JLG Introduces the EC600AJ Boom Lift
Let’s continue our World of Concrete coverage with the new EC600AJ boom lift from JLG Industries. The company unveiled the 60-ft EC600AJ boom lift at the show, and it boasts an unrestricted platform capacity of 550-lbs and a restricted capacity of 750-lbs. JLG says the
According to JLG, the EC600AJ’s articulating boom design allows for multiple positioning configurations and provides superior up-and-over capability with 27-ft, 1-in. of up-and-over height. This allows machine operators to navigate complex architectural features and obstacles while maintaining precise positioning control.
The EC600AJ’s versatility is further enhanced by its 130-degree jib articulation range (+70, -60 degrees) and 400-degree non-continuous swing — enabling operators to position the platform precisely in confined spaces or around obstacles. It also offers a platform height of 60-ft and horizontal outreach of 36-ft. These features provide operators the ideal machine for applications like facility maintenance, construction and renovation projects.
From the press release:
“We’ve focused on making the EC600AJ both powerful and practical, part of a new generation of JLG boom lifts designed with job sites of tomorrow in mind,” says Angela Patterson, product management specialist lead, JLG. “This model demonstrates our ongoing commitment to electrification while meeting the rugged demands of a construction environment, with performance capabilities similar to those of its diesel counterparts. The EC600AJ’s articulating design provides the versatility and precise positioning capabilities that modern construction and maintenance operations demand, all while delivering the environmental benefits and lower total cost of ownership of an electric platform.”
More on the EC600AJ
Powered by two 10.7kWh lithium-ion batteries, the EC600AJ delivers efficient and environmentally friendly operation. The boom lift boasts 4WD AC drive motors for enhanced terrain capability, as well as greater maneuverability with both 2WS and 4WS options. JLG says the EC600AJ offers 40 percent gradeability with a 5-degree tilt cut-out, providing the power to tackle challenging terrain while complying with industry safety standards.
Additional key features of the EC600AJ include:
- Tight turning radius of 4-ft, 11-in. in 4WS mode
- Non-marking, non-directional rough terrain foam-filled tires as standard
- Advanced control system
JLG’s EC600AJ offers improved transportability thanks to a shorter stowed length and compact design. Two units can fit onto one trailer, which significantly reduces transportation costs and logistics complexity. The new boom lift has also been redesigned with an internal power track and hybrid hood design to enhance durability and make maintenance more efficient. JLG says production for the new EC600AJ starts in the Summer of 2025.
