Linamar Corp.’s Skyjack brand has announced the launch of its new SJ6940 RTE product, a new electric rough terrain scissor product which claims to take the machine to new heights.

With a platform capacity of 800 pounds and and a maximum height of 40 feet, the new scissor product line has set the benchmark as Skyjack’s tallest compact rough terrain scissor class, the company says. Skyjack president Charlie Patterson says the SJ6940 delivers the largest working area in its class, complete with a main platform at just over 11 feet long.

“At Skyjack, we pride ourselves on designing for rental and building machines that optimize productivity and sustainability,” he says. “The new SJ6940 RTE scissor offers outstanding performance, zero emissions, and an impressive 363 kg (800 lb) capacity to support more people, tools, and materials.”

The new product also features a “smart electric drive system,” company representatives say, as well as front oscillating axle. The firm says these features allow the SJ6940 to tackle rough jobsite terrain, and keep high levels of traction and maneuverability while doing it.

“An ideal solution”

With features like auto-leveling outriggers, coupled with Skyjack’s trademark durability, the company says the SJ6940 is “an ideal solution for indoor and outdoor construction, maintenance, and industrial applications.”

“The SJ6940 RTE is purpose-built to outperform in rough terrain conditions while delivering a clean, quiet, and sustainable rental solution,” says Mark Trowman, Skyjack’s product development manager. “Our four-level scissor stack, with a single-cylinder design, significantly reduces leak points and simplifies maintenance.

“Paired with our smart electric drive system, this all-electric rough terrain scissor lift consistently delivers reliable performance in rugged environments.”

The scissor lift also features high-performance AC electric drive motors, as well as an AC pump motor to optimize torque, power, and speed. The machine’s battery power and charging technology also helps it maximize performance and environmental sustainability.

The SJ6940 RTE product line is now available in Europe, Skyjack officials say.
