Video: All Aboard a Time Warp Walk-Around of Volvo Days 2024

Let’s stretch our legs. Come take a quick walk with us around Volvo Days 2024. This is an annual customer-dealer event that Volvo Construction Equipment hosts every year. It brings in key companies to showcase its latest machines, technologies and services. There’s also factory tours, test drives, product demonstrations, networking, awesome meals and lots more.

Volvo Days 2024 was held in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania, at the company’s North American Customer Center. You might have noticed we already did a fun photo post on Volvo Days 2024. The customer center houses the Volvo Brand Shop, Volvo Museum, meeting facilities and its new technician training center, but all the action was outside. About half of the 80-acre site has been developed to offer a unique experience for machine demonstration and training. This giant outdoor operational area is a contractor’s/machine journalist’s dream. For the event, it was broken up into equipment and application stations. Pros could jump on every type of iron from mini excavators to giant haul trucks. Above is time warp walk-around of the site.

A Quick Look at the Products Teased at Volvo Days

The spotlight was on Volvo’s electric machines, including the all-new L120 Electric wheel loader and the new-generation EC230 Electric excavator. These products represent Volvo’s continued advancements in zero-emission construction solutions. Other electric machines on display included the L20 and L25 Electric compact wheel loaders and the ECR18 and ECR25 Electric mini excavators.

In the compact equipment category, Volvo expects the EC37 and ECR40 mini excavators to be popular in the North American market and showcased them accordingly. These machines, designed with operator experience in mind, feature advanced controls, hydraulic settings and elongated undercarriages for added stability.

Updated L30 and L35 Compact Wheel Loaders

Volvo also introduced the updated L30 and L35 compact wheel loaders. These models feature improved visibility, a more intuitive display system and enhanced operator controls. A key innovation is the addition of an eight-pin harness on the boom, allowing operators to use a wider range of attachments without additional wiring. The L30 and L35 also come equipped with an advanced boom kick-out and bucket leveler system, enhancing precision and efficiency.

Volvo Days 2024 was not only a showcase of equipment but also a platform for exploring cutting-edge technologies. Expect a full story on Volvo Days 2024 soon, featuring an interview with Scott Young, head of Volvo CE North America.
