Steelwrist Inc. Hosts AEM Manufacturing Express Tour at Connecticut Headquarters

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers‘ AEM Manufacturing Express made a stop in the Constitution State on Sept. 28, as the bus tour received a warm welcome from the employees of Steelwrist Inc. at its Newington, Connecticut facility.

According to officials, this visit marked the first time the trade association’s tour bus made a stop at a tiltrotator manufacturer. During the visit, Steelwrist representatives took the time to showcase the latest in tiltrotator sector technology, the company says, alongside its expanded machiner, assembly, product testing, and other solutions.

“The AEM Manufacturing Express celebrates the people and communities at the heart of the equipment manufacturing industry,” says AEM president and CEO Megan Tanel. “The continued popularity of this tour among our members is a testament to its impact. Across the country, millions of Americans play a role in making the equipment that builds our infrastructure and feeds our nation.

“This tour gives us an opportunity to recognize their hard work, share their stories, and build pride in American-made equipment.”

In total, the state of Connecticut supports about 14,000 manufacturing jobs and contributes $3.1 billion annually to the state’s GDP, according to Steelwrist.

Making an impact on American shores

A native company of Rosersberg, Sweden, Steelwrist entered the North American market in 2017, according to officials. Sales numbers state that the company has since become one of the fastest growing suppliers of tiltrotators on the continent.

AEM’s attendees received a tour of the facility, Steelwrist officials say, which serves as the company’s North American headquarters. The building brings warehousing, technical support, training, machining, assembly and product testing, together all under one roof.

Additionally, the company says this expanded operation “reflects both the work of the local Steelwrist team and the company’s long-term commitment to growing its presence in the U.S. market.”

The AEM Manufacturing Express first hit the road on Aug. 31, and will stop at 18 manufacturing sites across four states during the Northeast leg of the tour alone. The tour aims to highlight the 2.2 million American men and women of the manufacturing industry, the association says in a statement.
