Heavy machinery giant Takeuchi has chosen London, Ontario-based equipment supplier Cornerstone Equipment as its newest dealer in the Canadian market.

Takeuchi officials say the firm is “strategically positioned to serve contractors, rental houses and agricultural customers” throughout the province’s southwestern areas. That area encompasses highly populated counties including Middlesex, Oxford, Waterloo, Elgin, and other counties between Toronto and Canada’s western border with Detroit.

“As we launch this new venture, we’re excited to work with Takeuchi,” says Calvin Vanderbrink, partner of Cornerstone Equipment. “Takeuchi has a strong brand reputation built on providing high-quality construction equipment. We strongly believe that featuring Takeuchi as our flagship brand will help us attract a solid customer base within the construction, landscape and agricultural sectors here in this region.”

The dealership will feature a dedicated Takeuchi showroom, representatives say, as well as a parts and service department, and in-house and on-road sales teams. All of this comes in an effort “ensure strong customer coverage” across Ontarian territory.

Choosing knowledgeable leadership

Takeuchi’s new team with Cornerstone Equipment includes partners Calvin Vandenbrink, Eric Vanderlinde, and Ryan Vanderlinde, the company says. Each of those partners bring multiple years of equipment sales with them to their new positions, which the team says is crucial going forward with such a young partnership.

“While Cornerstone Equipment is a new dealership, its leadership team has the knowledge and skills to make it a success,” says Patrick Kirychuk, regional business manager for Takeuchi-US. “Calvin, Eric and Ryan have a clear understanding of their market, a defined sales strategy and a strong commitment to product support.”

Cornerstone will just one of just a select few Takeuchi dealers in Ontario, as the company still looks to increase its business in Canada’s most populous province. The company has committed to “comprehensive sales training and product support” for the new Cornerstone Equipment dealership, aiming to deliver a consistent owner experience for new customers in the Great White North.
