Sage Mfg. Launches as Parent Company of Manufacturing Brand Portfolio

Sage Mfg. has announced its formation as a parent company of Sage Oil Vac and Amarillo Tanks, as well as the newly launched Amarillo Upfitters.
The launch “coincides with a significant investment in the company’s future,” with the firm opening a new 20-acre, $21 million headquarters in Amarillo, Texas. The parent company formation aims to create a fully unified organization, representatives say, which remains focused on manufacturing products that help improve jobsites across North America.
“Sage Mfg. represents the next step in our evolution,” says Aaron Sage, CEO of Sage Mfg. and the second-generation owner of the company. “We’ve grown beyond the single company my father founded, now becoming a family of businesses that share a common purpose: helping hardworking people do their jobs more efficiently, more safely and more profitably.”
In the past few years, the triumvirate of firms have gone from single-product manufacturers to a more diversified business portfolio, officials say. Under the new parent company, the trio will be able to better serve customers across construction, agriculture, mining, transportation, energy, and other industrial markets.
Operating as a cohesive unit
Sage Oil Vac opened in 1993 under the guidance of Gary Sage, and has become a premier manufacturer of mobile lube equipment and preventative maintenance solution in the decades since, officials say. The company adds that it prides itself on creating cleaner, safer, faster, and more efficient fluid exchange systems.
Acquired by the Sage family as Willborn Brothers in 2021, Amarillo Tanks is a manufacturer of steel tanks and related products. The company aims to expand on the manufacturing capabilities of Sage Mfg., while also guiding the corporate umbrella’s vertical integration.
Created earlier this year, Amarillo Upfitters will build custom-created, work-ready service trucks for contractors, municipalities, utilities, and fleet operators.
The goal of the new parent company is, of course, to get all of these three firms working on the same page, at the same time.
“Our goal is to build great companies that solve real-world problems,” Sage adds. “Whether we’re developing maintenance equipment, manufacturing tanks or delivering custom upfitting solutions, we’re focused on building the companies that build what’s next.”
Each of the three companies will continue to operate under its own branding, according to Sage Mfg. officials. However, the parent company will be providing various levels of operational support, long-term investment, and strategic corporate leadership across the three-firm portfolio.
