Yanmar Expands North American Dealership Network in Canada

Yanmar Compact Equipment North America has announced its appointment of Alberta-based Emerald Equipment as its newest dealer in Canada.
The newly minted equipment dealer sports locations in Edmonton and Calgary, and will be able to offer Yanmar’s full lineup of equipment, the company says. Under the new agreement with Yanmar, the company will carry Yanmar compact track loaders, mini excavators, compact wheel loaders, and tracked carriers, and will have a sales, service, and technical expertise team for the region.
Anna Christine Sgro, president of Yanmar Compact Equipment North America, says the country of Canada “represents a significant growth opportunity for Yanmar.” The Grand Rapids, Minnesota-based company’s success depends on its partnerships with various dealers across North America, she says.
“At Yanmar, we are intentional about who represents our brand,” Sgro adds. “We look for partners who understand that equipment is only part of the equation—service, support, trust, and long-term relationships are what truly drive customer success. Emerald Equipment has built an outstanding reputation across Alberta, and their values align closely with ours.
“We are proud to welcome them to the Yanmar family and look forward to growing together as we continue investing in our Canadian dealer network.”
Versatility for a growing market
Yanmar is jumping into the Albertan market just as it becomes one of the construction and infrastructure hotspots of the Great White North. The addition of Emerald Equipment enhances the company’s capabilities to support contractors and rental customers through all of western Canada.
As Yanmar’s newest dealer, Emerald will be able to carry the firm’s recently unified compact track loader line of products, including the ASV Posi-Track and steel-embedded undercarriage systems. In addition to equipment sales, Yanmar representatives say Emerald will provide Yanmar parts, support, and “product expertise.”
Shaun Green, Emerald Equipment’s general manager, says his firm is proud to join the Yanmar family, where it will represent the global brand.
“This partnership is a natural fit for our organization and our customers,” he says. “We are excited to bring Yanmar’s industry-leading equipment solutions to Alberta and look forward to building a successful future together.”
