Machine Heads Video: Discussing JCB’s U.S. Expansion Plans with CEO Richard Fox-Marrs

In the bustling atmosphere of the Monster Jam World Finals in Los Angeles, I had the unique opportunity to sit down with Richard Fox-Marrs, the charismatic president and CEO of JCB North America. The roar of monster trucks provided an energetic backdrop as Fox-Marrs delved into JCB’s ambitious plans for North America, highlighted by the company’s groundbreaking new facility in San Antonio, Texas. Fox-Marrs, a 30-plus-year veteran of JCB, emphasized the strategic importance of the North American market (quote from our previous post).

Texas is an obvious choice for our new North American manufacturing facility, not least because the state is the largest consumer of construction equipment in the USA. San Antonio is also the logical choice as a location for our new factory because of its central location, proximity to the supply chain and great local labor force. We are really excited about JCB’s new San Antonio factory and for the future of our business in North America,” says Fox-Marrs.

The company’s commitment to this region is underscored by the recent commencement of construction on a $500 million facility in San Antonio, which is also the largest investment in JCB’s history. The new 720,000-sq-ft factory, set on a 400-acre site, is slated to create 1,500 jobs over the next five years. This facility will manufacture JCB’s popular Loadall telescopic handlers and aerial access equipment, with production expected to begin in 2026.

JCB has also signed a multiyear deal to be the Official Heavy Equipment Partner of Monster Jam — the world’s largest and most famous monster truck tour. The partnership features the addition of a new truck design to the fleet — the JCB DIGatron — which is totally awesome. Learn about this and more in our Machine Heads video above. With the new San Antonio facility and Monster Jam sponsorship marking significant milestones, JCB is poised to strengthen its foothold in North America, driving innovation and growth in the construction equipment industry. We’ll keep you updated on all of its moves, many of which you can learn about in the Machine Heads video at the top of this post.
