JCB Expands Compact Equipment Line with Two New Skid Steers

JCB has introduced its new 250 and 290 skid steer loaders. The new models are manufactured in Savannah, Georgia, and are designed to meet the demands of North American agricultural operations. JCB said these skid steers deliver the performance, versatility and operator-focused innovation producers need for everyday material handling.

“North American producers continue to face labor shortages, making every employee and every piece of equipment more important than ever,” said Lee Tice, senior product manager – Compact Equipment, JCB North America. “The new 250 and 290 skid steer loaders are designed to help a single operator accomplish more throughout the day. Our industry-exclusive side-door entry eliminates the need to climb over buckets, pallet forks and other attachments every time operators enter or exit the machine. It’s a smarter design that improves productivity, enhances safety and helps operators keep work moving.”

According to the press release, the 250 and 290 are powered by 74-hp engines and engineered to support a wide range of attachments. They’re built to excel on the farm with the ability to load feed, stack hay, handle pallets and more. The new skid steers also boast JCB’s industry-exclusive single-arm boom design — pairing enhanced visibility with convenient side-door entry.

The 250 and 290 are positioned in a new mid-size weight class for JCB and offer an ideal balance of lifting performance, maneuverability and versatility.

JCB said that both models maintain a compact footprint and excellent maneuverability. This allows operators to work efficiently around barns, feedyards, commodity sheds and other confined spaces. where larger equipment may not fit.
