Caterpillar’s Centennial Celebration at bauma 2025: Machines, Tech and the Future

Caterpillar is marking a major milestone in 2025: 100 years of innovation, reliability and industry leadership. And where better to celebrate than at bauma Munich, the world’s largest construction equipment trade fair? From April 7-13, 2025, Caterpillar will take over Hall B6 with an expansive 9,000 m² exhibit, featuring 48 machines, cutting-edge technologies and an immersive experience that looks forward to the next 100 years of construction. From the press release:
“We are excited to be returning to bauma this April,” said Tony Fassino, Caterpillar Construction Industries group president. “What we will show will be a fitting tribute to our heritage while demonstrating our commitment to building a safer, smarter and more sustainable world with our customers and dealers for the next 100 years. Alternative power sources, reduced carbon options, and integrated technologies are the future, and Caterpillar is ready to deliver this in collaboration with our global dealer network.”
The Caterpillar Booth: A Must-See at bauma 2025
Caterpillar’s bauma booth is always a showstopper, and 2025 will be no exception. With a lineup of 17 new machine introductions, the display will include battery-electric compact equipment, next-generation models and specialized machines for demolition, waste handling and recycling. The theme, “The Next 100 Years,” underscores Caterpillar’s focus on sustainability, alternative power solutions and advanced machine technology.
Cat Performance Centre: The Future of Equipment in Action
The Cat Performance Centre will be the heart of the exhibit, showcasing how power, machinery and technology work together for maximum efficiency and sustainability. Expect:
- Live demonstrations of fleet upgrades, showing fuel savings and reduced emissions.
- Hands-on simulations, including an electrified jobsite experience featuring real-world data insights.
- Battery-electric compact equipment, including the 301.9 mini excavator and 906 compact wheel loader, available via select Cat rental dealers.
- The latest 320 and 950 GC prototypes, plus charging options and support services.
Tech-Driven Safety and Connectivity
Caterpillar will also highlight its latest jobsite safety and connectivity solutions, including:
- VisionLink Equipment Management for monitoring fleet performance.
- Cat Detect’s advanced safety features, such as people detection, seatbelt monitoring and collision mitigation.
- Cat Grade with 3D and Cat Payload, optimizing earthmoving efficiency.

What Cool Equipment Will Be Displayed?
- Caterpillar will showcase three Next Generation compact track loaders, offering upgrades in power, breakout forces, stability and operator comfort.
- The D8 dozer, featuring a redesigned operator station, Cat Grade 3D-ready technology, and Cat Command Remote Control.
- The 140 AWD Next Generation motor grader, still in prototype phase, consolidating two platforms into one for greater versatility.
- The MH3032 material handler, featuring a 15m reach and 1m³ grapple, designed for scrap and material handling.
- The 330 UHD ultra high demolition excavator, with a Stability Monitoring System and Cat Payload for precise material tracking.
Engines, Power Solutions and Sustainability
Caterpillar will also showcase its latest industrial engines and power solutions, emphasizing sustainability and alternative fuels:
- C13D, C9.3B and C2.8 engines, compatible with 100% hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO).
- A series electric drivetrain, part of Caterpillar’s growing electrification portfolio.
- XES60 Battery Energy Storage Solution (BESS), providing on-site battery-electric charging to cut emissions.
- XQP115 generator set, an EU-certified mobile power solution built to withstand harsh jobsite conditions.
Services and Support Solutions: Maximizing Uptime and Efficiency
Caterpillar is showcasing its integrated aftermarket solutions to enhance operational efficiency and reduce ownership costs. From the press release:
“Caterpillar offers integrated aftermarket solutions to drive value, maximize uptime, reduce ownership costs and enhance operational efficiencies, said Damien Giraud, Caterpillar senior vice president of Construction Industries Services Division. “Customer Value Agreements (CVAs), Parts.cat.com, SIS2GO, and ProductLink will be displayed demonstrating the company’s data-driven digital solutions aimed at maximizing performance.”

- Customer Value Agreements (CVAs) — Ensure next-day maintenance and second-day repair parts availability. If parts are delayed, customers may receive reimbursement.
- Parts.cat.com, SIS2GO and ProductLink — Digital solutions for fleet optimization, remote monitoring and maintenance planning.
- Cat Certified Rebuild Program — Restores end-of-life machines to like-new condition, extending their lifespan and reducing costs.
- Cat Certified Used Equipment — Provides reliable, cost-effective alternatives to new purchases..
