Construction equipment giant Bobcat Co. is launching a limited run, ‘Founders Edition’ ZT3500 zero-turn mower in celebration of the U.S.’s 250th birthday in 2026.

Designed specifically for the country’s semiquincentennial celebration this year, the mower not only marks the birthday milestone, but “celebrates the people behind the work,” Bobcat officials say. The machine features the same performance metrics as other ZT3500 models, but with upgrades and new commercial-grade features to set it apart from its non-anniversary siblings throughout the lineup.

“Bobcat was built on the belief that if you give people the right equipment, they can take on bigger jobs, build stronger businesses and create something that lasts,” says Jeremy Holck, VP of grounds maintenance products for Bobcat. “This milestone is really about recognizing the people who carry that spirit forward – the operators and crews who continue to make an impact in their communities every day.”

Bobcat says that aside from the celebration, the daily realities of the job remain unchanged. Contractors around the U.S. continue to rely on consistent equipment, allowing them to stay on schedule and keep their customers happy.

Founders’ features

The Founders Edition ZT3500 will feature several unique features and enhancements from other zero-turn mower models in the Bobcat catalogue. The company says buyers can rest assured, however, that its performance, durability, and ease of use will remain the same as ever.

The machine features an upgraded seat platform, aiming to support long days on the job, as well as a blacked-out tailgate and rims for a modern mower appearance. On a cosmetic note, the Founders Edition units will feature a badge and American flag accents to reflect the edition’s anniversary inspirations.

“We’re proud of the mowers we build, but even more proud of the people who put them to work,” Holck adds. “This edition reflects that pride, expressed through a design that sets it apart.”

The Founders Edition ZT3500 will be available in limited quantity at select Bobcat dealers around the U.S., according to company representatives. Officially, there are 250 machines, each with a unit number from 1 to 250, as part of the commemorative release.
