Tire, wheel, and track solutions firm OTR Engineered Solutions has expanded its brand of SolidBoss smooth skid-loader tire lineup with a new assembly size.

Coming in at the size of 31×10-20 (10-16.5), the new tire assembly greatly extends the reach of the wider SolidBoss family, the company says.

Officials add that equipment owners and fleet managers will have access to a “durable, low-maintenance tire option” for their skid steers, including those operating in harsh environments. Designed with “maximum durability” in mind, the new assembly size is tailor made for use at demolition sites, recycling facilities, scrap yards, waste handling operations, and other critical applications.

“The addition of the 31×10-20 size allows us to accommodate an even wider range of skid steers,” says Steve Jensen, VP of national accounts at OTR Engineered Solutions. “Customers have consistently asked for more flat-free options in this size category, and we’re excited to bring the proven durability and ride quality of SolidBoss smooth tires to even more machines and applications.”

Quick, easy replacement

The new semi-pneumatic tire is designed for fast and easy replacement whenever necessary, the company says. The new tire assembly size features an 8 on 8.0 bolt pattern, the most populous configuration in the construction and agriculture tire industry, according to firm representatives.

The new tire size also features a flat-free construction style, eliminating common problems with fully pneumatic tires with solid polyurethane foam. The new tires also incorporate “cushioning apertures,” helping to absorb machine shock and deliver a smoother ride for operators inside the cabin.

“In addition to its flat-free construction, the SolidBoss smooth tire features proprietary rubber compounds engineered to resist chunking, tearing, and slicing damage commonly encountered in severe-duty environments,” the company says. “The result is longer service life, reduced maintenance costs, and increased machine uptime.”

OTR Engineered Solutions currently boasts more than 30 facilities and warehouse locations in the U.S., Canada, Europe, and Asia. The firm’s new tire assembly size is available now on the company’s website, or in person through its distribution network.
