Sunbelt Rentals Continues its Electric Push, Expands Bobcat T7X CTL Fleet
Rental has been a huge driver in the adaptation of electric equipment. New battery-powered machines have found homes on rental lots all across the country, and Sunbelt Rentals is one company making a solid effort to go electric. One example is Sunbelt’s recent announcement: The company has expanded its fleet of Bobcat T7X all-electric compact track loaders.
The addition of more Bobcat T7X models reinforces Sunbelt’s continued mission of supporting its customers’ carbon reduction efforts. The company added the Bobcat T7X to its fleet in 2022, and delivered its first one to Sacramento, California, in October of that year. Today, Sunbelt has 106 Bobcat T7X models available in the California market — the largest fleet of these electric compact track loaders.
From the press release:
“Sunbelt Rentals recognizes that our customers need equipment that provides powerful, reliable performance and expanded applications,” said Brad Coverdale, VP of Fleet and Procurement at Sunbelt Rentals. “The Bobcat T7X is an innovative piece of equipment that our customers can depend on to get the job done, while also reducing noise pollution and carbon emissions.”
More on the Bobcat T7X
The Bobcat T7X was first unveiled at CES 2022 and is the world’s first all-electric compact track loader. Designed with a 72.6-kW lithium-ion battery, this machine provides power that exceeds that of diesel-powered compact track loaders. Users can enjoy the benefits of zero emissions, as well as near silent operation. This allows operators to use the machine for indoor or outdoor applications, day or night.
The loader’s battery and all-electric powertrain reduce vibration for a better customer experience. Bobcat’s T7X uses only 1.5 gal of eco-friendly coolant compared to 57 gal of fluid in its diesel/hydraulic equivalent model. This unit has comparable stats to the Bobcat T76 diesel compact track loader. The T7X offers a rated operating capacity of 3,056 lbs (35 percent); tipping load of 8,743 lbs; and operating weight of 12,590 lbs.
Karen Beadle, senior VP, Sustainability at Sunbelt Rentals adds, “Investing in innovative equipment like the Bobcat T7X demonstrates our commitment to making sustainable alternatives accessible, empowering our customers to confidently pursue their own sustainability goals.”
The Bobcat T7X is just one machine in Sunbelt Rentals’ all-electric equipment fleet. The company also offers all-electric scissor lifts, compact excavators, battery energy storage systems (BESS) and its on-road fleet of Ford F-150 Lightning trucks. This growing list of electric equipment is a vital part of Sunbelt Rentals strategy toward increased sustainability.
