Equipment giant Bobcat has received ‘AI-Based Construction Solution of the Year’ honors from the 2026 AI Breakthrough Awards for its Jobsite Companion platform.

Also known as the Intuitive Operator Experience, the Jobsite Companion is an AI-enabled operating experience platform designed for efficiency while at the controls. Boasting features like voice commanded machine functions, attachment optimization, and real-time cost-analysis, the machine “helps turn everyday decisions into faster work and better results,” Bobcat says.

“Jobsite Companion was developed to help operators get more out of every job by making machine operation simpler and more intuitive,” says Scott Johnson, senior director of construction products at Bobcat. “As jobsites become more demanding and skilled labor remains in short supply, solutions like this help reduce complexity, improve efficiency and support operators in managing their workday.”

The global AI Breakthrough Awards are currently in their ninth year according to Bobcat representatives, making the awards one of the longest-running AI industry recognition programs in the world. Bobcat officials add that the program attracts “thousands” of nominations from more than 20 countries every year, in a number of industries.

The next step in machinery advancement

Bobcat was the only construction-based company recognized with the award, making the recognition Jobsite Companion’s second of 2026 alone. Earlier this year, the AI platform was recognized as a finalist for the Next Level Awards at CONEXPO/CON-AGG.

Crucially, however, the AI program does not replace the human operator entirely, company officials say.

“(Jobsite Companion) is designed to make the machine easier to run, easier to learn and easier to optimize over time,” the company says. “The operator remains in control of the machine and the work, while Jobsite Companion supports the experience with smarter controls, optimized settings and clearer machine information in the cab.”

Bobcat says the AI program is just one part of what sets its Bobcat Pro line of loaders apart, as it tracks labor, machine, attachment, and fuel costs. All of this information, the company says, enhances the human element and allows equipment operators to work more efficiently than ever before.

“Jobsite Companion works directly in the cab through voice-activated control,” officials say. “Operators press and hold a joystick button, say a command or question, and see and hear the system respond instantly on the display.

“The result? Fewer disruptions, more consistent focus and a more efficient way to stay engaged with both the machine and the task at hand.”
