Trimble has selected Dunmore, Pennsylvania-based Five Star Equipment as its newest Trimble Technology outlet, the company announced Aug. 27.

The firm says Five Star will be a fully-outfitted Trimble Technology dealer and sell Trimble’s grade control, site positioning systems, and correction services technology. These products will go directly to customers using John Deere’s earthmoving equipment, Trimble adds, including dozers, excavators, motor graders, compact track loaders, and mini excavators. Deere and Level Best attachment users will also be included.

Ron Bisio, Trimble’s president of field systems, says the company is excited to add a new outlet, especially in such a key area of the country.

“We want to make it as easy as possible for civil construction contractors to find dealers who sell, service and support Trimble technology, regardless of machine make or model,” he says. “We look forward to working with the Five Star team to help their customers in New York and Pennsylvania take advantage of the increased productivity, profitability and jobsite efficiency Trimble technology provides.”

Strengthening a combined strategy

Originally established in 1980, Five Star Equipment has become a regional dealer of heavy equipment for a number of brands throughout Pennsylvania and New York. Now operating seven locations northern Pennsylvania and New York, the firm aims to support not only contractors, but businesses and municipalities through a variety of equipment services.

The firm’s addition to the Trimble Technology family bolsters the Coloradan company’s “civil construction distribution strategy,” representatives say. Adding authorized resellers to its dealership ranks makes it easier than ever for equipment operators to utilize and install Trimble machine technology.

Five Star says that its customers can still expect the same levels of support, as well as installation and equipment training. Trimble’s dealership network has consistently thrived in operator training environments, with Five Star COO Bill Bochicchio Jr. emphasizing the company’s commitment to safety and efficiency.

“Working with Trimble expands our ability to deliver industry-leading technology solutions that improve productivity across the jobsite,” Bochicchio says. “This relationship reflects our ongoing investment in providing customers with the tools, support and expertise they need to succeed in an increasingly connected construction environment.”
