Innovative Iron Awards 2021: Case and New Holland Unleash Some of the Largest Track Loaders Yet

Case track loader

In contrast to its category name, compact equipment continues to get larger. Case Construction Equipment and sister company New Holland Construction once again demonstrated this in 2021, introducing the TV620B and C362 compact track loaders (CTLs), the largest and most powerful CTLs ever built. The specs are the same for each brand — a 114-hp, 6,200-lb rated operating capacity CTL delivering best-in-class breakout forces — stuffed with loads of standard features (adjustable electro-hydraulic controls, high-flow hydraulics, auto ride control, one-way self-leveling, hydraulic coupler, auto-reversing fan, LED lights and a one-year subscription to SiteWatch telematics).

The TV620B and C362 offer a selection of buckets, including an industry-exclusive heavy-duty, 84-in., 1.25-cu-yd bucket with SmartFit teeth, and are specifically designed for use with other heavy-duty attachments such as mulching heads, cold planers and the all-new Case grading blade. My favorite: Both units feature standard automatic ride control with adjustable speed settings, which engages ride control immediately when the CTL hits a pre-specified speed. This feature is enabled and disabled simply within the multi-function display in the machine.

Units also feature a foot pedal that serves one of three functions — accelerator (traditional acceleration), trans (reduces drive speed but retains rpm for loader arm functions) and decel (traditional deceleration), based on operator preference. The Case TV620B and New Holland C362 lead the industry in major operational categories including rated operating capacity (6,200 lbs), breakout force (12,084 lbs bucket; 12,907 lbs lift) and track length on the ground (74 in.).

More Details

According to the company, the CASE TV620B meets emissions regulations with a combination of cooled exhaust gas recirculation (CEGR), diesel oxidation catalyst (DOC) and selective catalytic reduction (SCR) technologies — it features no diesel particulate filter (DPF) and requires no regeneration.

As mentioned above, the TV620B offers a selection of buckets, including an industry-exclusive heavy-duty 84-in. 1.25 cu-yd bucket with SmartFit teeth, and is specifically designed for use with other heavy-duty attachments such as mulching heads, cold planers and the all-new CASE grading blade. CASE will be releasing additional heavy-duty attachments designed specifically for use with the TV620B, and has enhanced the hydraulic cooling capacity of the machine to support use of such heavy-duty, high-capacity attachments.

The C362 from New Holland features the company’s patented Super Boom vertical-lift design which optimizes the machine for lift-and-carry operations. This allows operators to achieve greater dump reach and height, so they can easily load high-sided truck boxes or hoppers. New Holland says full 360-degree visibility comes with the C362’s low-profile Super Boom arm and shoulder design, an integrated rear camera and new LED front work lights. Operators can see even more with the C362’s large glass door, lower front-door threshold and see-through area on the cab roof.
