Big Kid Stuff: JCB’s DIGatron Joins LEGO Technic Monster Jam Series

JCB DIGatron Joins LEGO® Technic™ Monster Jam® Series

Construction Power Meets Brick-Built Fun

JCB’s DIGatron just roared into a new arena, and this time it’s built from LEGO bricks. The iconic construction-inspired Monster Jam truck is now part of the LEGO Technic Monster Jam series, marking the first-ever LEGO set to feature JCB branding. This 218-piece model gives kids and collectors alike a new way to experience the engineering behind the real-life DIGatron — the same truck that debuted at Monster Jam events in 2024 and nearly won the World Finals in Los Angeles. So close!

The new LEGO Technic Monster Jam DIGatron (Set 42199) is packed with attitude — and a pull-back motor. Designed for ages 7 and up, this $27.99 set is already available at global LEGO retailers. It recreates the truck’s backhoe-meets-beast aesthetic and lets kids send it flying across the room, Monster Jam style. Like other Monster Jam LEGO Technic models, the DIGatron can also be reconfigured into a second vehicle. Fans have already begun using the set’s components to create alternative builds, including a JCB Fastrac tractor. It’s a nod to the hands-on, multifunctional approach of real construction equipment. From the press release:

“JCB has a long history of engineering machines that push the boundaries of what’s possible in construction, agriculture, and beyond,” said Marc-André Dubois, Vice President of Marketing at JCB North America. “Seeing DIGatron join the LEGO Technic Monster Jam lineup is an exciting moment, and we hope it inspires the next generation of engineers and innovators.”

What Is LEGO Technic’s Monster Jam Series?

The LEGO Technic Monster Jam subtheme began in 2021 and now includes eight monster truck sets. All feature:

  • Pull-back motors
  • 2-in-1 vehicle builds
  • Realistic details from Monster Jam’s most popular trucks

Other fan favorites include Grave Digger, Megalodon, Max-D, and El Toro Loco. DIGatron joins the 2025 lineup alongside ThunderROARus, another new entry. These sets bridge the gap between toy and machine — kind of like compact equipment itself.

Real Monster. Real Construction Roots.

Monster Jam World FInals 2024 JCB Digatron flies through the air

The real DIGatron is no toy. Built through a collaboration between Monster Jam and JCB, the 1,500-hp truck brings construction muscle to the Monster Jam arena. Its design honors JCB’s legacy and the backhoe that started it all. In 2024, DIGatron hit the dirt with reigning champ Tristan England behind the wheel. It nearly captured the title at the World Finals in Los Angeles, finishing second overall. But DIGatron isn’t just a showpiece. It’s also the face of JCB’s official partnership with Monster Jam, which makes JCB the series’ exclusive heavy equipment provider.

The Dirt Squad Behind the Madness

At every Monster Jam event, JCB equipment takes center stage — behind the scenes. Last May, Compact Equipment traveled to the Monster Jam World Finals at SoFi Stadium in LA. We witnessed firsthand how JCB’s Dirt Squad sculpts the event floor using:

  • JCB compact track loaders
  • JCB wheel loaders
  • JCB Teleskid units
  • JCB 457 wheel loaders for truck recovery

More than 5,000 cubic yards of dirt were shaped into ramps, banks and freestyle features in just days. During the event’s intermission, JCB machines reshaped the entire course in under 45 minutes. The Teleskid’s telescoping boom became a fan (and operator) favorite for precision shaping. Watch the video above.

More DIGatron Toys Coming in 2025

While the LEGO version headlines the toy shelf now, more DIGatron-branded toys from Spin Master and other partners are on the way. Expect new ways for kids to build, race and crash this unique construction-meets-motorsport icon.
