AEM Forms Partnership with National Safety Council’s SafetyAtlas Platform

The Association of Equipment Manufacturers (AEM) has formed a partnership with the National Safety Council, making all AEM Safety Manuals available on the council’s SafetyAtlas platform.
The partnership deal aims to expand access to trusted, industry-developed safety resources for employees, equipment operators, workforce training programs, and safety industry professionals. Called a “centralized hub for safety training” by AEM officials, the SafetyAtlas platform provides credentials and resources from now only the National Safety Council, but a network of related nonprofits and industry partners.
“AEM Safety Materials are designed to help equipment users operate and maintain machinery safely while reinforcing the safety messages manufacturers provide through their operation and maintenance manuals,” says Jaime Vos, AEM’s senior director of safety materials. “By making these resources available through NSC SafetyAtlas, we are expanding access to trusted safety information and helping more organizations strengthen their safety culture.”
The partnership with the National Safety Council opens up an additional channel, AEM representatives say, for organizations seeking safety resources. The array of manuals on the SafetyAtlas platform support new operator onboarding, operator refresher training, as well as ongoing safety education.
AEM’s Safety Materials have supported the council and other American safety initiatives for more than 50 years in construction, agriculture, and utility equipment.
Expanding safety access
The new collaboration reflects not only a shared commitment by AEM and the National Safety Council, but a continued effort to modernize access to safety resources. The partnership echoes the recent launch of AEM’s redesigned Safety Materials online store, and also supports the association’s commitment to advancing best practices and reducing workplace risk.
“AEM’s mission is to help build a safer industry for everyone who works with and around our members’ equipment,” says John Somers, AEM’s VP of the construction and utility sectors. “Partnering with the National Safety Council through SafetyAtlas enables us to connect more equipment users with practical resources that support safer job sites.”
AEM Safety Manual resources are developed based off of consensus, and then reviewed and approved with manufacturer and industry expert input.
The resources cover preparation, safe operation, and maintenance of off-highway equipment, and are designed to complement OEM operator’s manuals.
