JLG Whitepaper Charts the Future of the Interconnected Jobsite

JLG Job Site of the Future Whitepaper

New Insights on Automation, Connectivity and Safety for MEWP Operations

JLG Industries is outlining a bold future for mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) with its latest whitepaper, The Job Site of the Future: From Equipment-Centric to Ecosystem Orchestration. Click here to download it! The document presents a new vision where smart machines, autonomous systems and connected workflows replace outdated jobsite practices. The whitepaper goes beyond buzzwords. It provides a strategic framework for how jobsite operations can evolve using real-time data, integrated platforms and predictive technology. From the press release:

“For decades, job sites have relied on access equipment, such as mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and telehandlers, to complete tasks at height,” says Nate Hoover, JLG’s Senior Director of Product Management. “In JLG’s vision for the future, these machines do more, part of an interconnected ecosystem that communicates, coordinates and optimizes operations in real-time — enhancing efficiency, reducing downtime and improving safety.”

From Isolated Machines to Orchestrated Ecosystems

JLG proposes a shift away from treating MEWPs and telehandlers as standalone tools. Instead, these machines become active participants in a coordinated jobsite ecosystem. Key components of this model include:

  • Real-time monitoring of equipment status and safety parameters
  • Automated workflows and task sequencing
  • Centralized data sharing across machines, workers and platforms
  • Autonomous navigation, charging and maintenance systems

The result: Smarter jobsites that improve productivity and reduce manual work.

Spotlight: JLG’s Concept Technologies

JLG’s whitepaper introduces two concept solutions designed to power this future:

  • JLG Galileo: A fully electric, hybrid boom lift and telehandler. The Galileo is also designed to be recharged wirelessly by an Autonomous Mobile Charging Robot.
  • Autonomous Mobile Charging Robot (AMCR): A wireless, on-demand charging system for equipment

These tools use JLG’s ClearSky Smart Fleet system to autonomously share data, trigger recharges and maintain uptime without human intervention. The AMCR, for example, locates machines with low charge, navigates the site, delivers power and returns to base — without disrupting workflow.
