Kubota Compact Wheel Loaders Summarized — 2018 Spec Guide
The Versatile R Series Is Equipped with Operator-Friendly, State-of-the-Art Features
Kubota’s highly versatile R Series wheel loaders, which consist of the R530 and the R630, are equipped with features to offer visibility, power and impressive productivity. The R Series increases Kubota’s commitment to high performance in a compact footprint, while increasing the company’s ability to meet the power needs of a wider variety of applications.
Standard four-wheel drive, 100 percent on-demand differential lock and rear frame oscillation provide traction, ride and stability on both Kubota R Series models. The R630 exclusively offers four operating modes that can be easily selected to match the machine’s application — normal mode, attachment mode, power and Eco-modes. Normal mode is compatible with everyday load-and-carry operations. In attachment mode, the operator can independently control travel speed from flow to the attachments. To save on fuel, Eco-mode conserves fuel up to 15 percent over other modes, while power mode exchanges travel speed for an increase of about 40 percent in traction power to excavate or attack a hard packed pile with ease.
The optional heated and air-conditioned enclosed cab for the R530 and R630 ensure year-round comfort with features like an adjustable suspension seat, lower noise levels and good visibility for those long hours on the job. Plus, the lower cab height allows the R Series wheel loaders to fit in tighter spaces and under eaves.
The R530, the most compact of the R Series, features a 51-hp engine and is larger in size than the prior model, with a larger bucket and a maximum bucket breakout force of 7,761 lbs. The R630 is Kubota’s first entry into the 60- to 80-hp range, raising the standard for Kubota wheel loader performance and opening up new markets and extended applications. With a 64.4-hp engine, the R630 delivers a maximum bucket breakout force of 10,415 lbs. Both models are available with ROPS-/FOPS-certified canopy or new air conditioned cab.
The convenient joystick mounted forward and reverse switch allows for on-the-go direction changes without clutching or braking. An optional quick-coupler makes for fast, safe and easy bucket and attachment changes. A popular option among customers, the skid loader-style front coupler allows one to interchange existing skid loader buckets and attachments for a direct fit on the compact wheel loader. The quick-coupler is available in both a skid loader-style and Euro-style coupler to best fit the owner’s needs.
Machine maintenance is done quickly with easy access points and — best of all — the R530 and R630 are powered by a reliable Kubota Tier 4 Final diesel engine. The R Series hybrid link system provides the best features of the parallel link system and the Z-bar link system, enhancing pallet fork operation and allowing Kubota customers to enjoy breakout force to power through tough applications.
Advice to Buyers
“Consider a unit that comes equipped with a creep mode which makes for efficient control and operation of front-mounted hydraulic attachments,” notes Jeff Jacobsmeyer, Kubota product manager for wheel loaders, excavators and TLBs. “The popular option of a skid loader-style front coupler allows one to interchange existing skid loader buckets and attachments for a direct fit on the compact wheel loader.”
