Compact Equipment Visits JCB to Shoot Video and Test Drive New WORKMAX Utility Vehicle
Today’s utility vehicles (or UTVs for short) are the construction pro’s go-anywhere transport vehicles. Similar to their ATV cousins, UTVs are made for off-road applications, but differ in that they can take at least two or three passengers, have a bed for cargo and supplies and are often focused on pure work projects. When considering the commercial side of UTVs, JCB’s new WORKMAX 800D is an outstanding addition to the professional marketplace.
How do we know? Well, myself (editor Keith Gribbins) and marketing manager Tim Richards of Compact Equipment magazine went down to test drive the WORKMAX in Savannah, Ga., at JCB’s North American headquarters this week. We spent a day shooting videos and taking photos for our upcoming April issue — our special UTV-focused edition of Compact Equipment. We’ll tease those videos all month in March. And we’ll tease the gnarly WORKMAX 800D too — its smooth, quiet 14.9-kW (20-hp) Yanmar diesel, its selectable electronic four-wheel drive and diff lock, its top speed of 25 mph, its durable and comfortable suspension, and a lot more of its impressive attributes. Below is a photo of us at JCB facilities.
