Manitou Americas Inc. Donates Gehl Skid Loader to University Wisconsin-Washington County
Manitou Americas Inc. donated a new Gehl skid loader to the University Wisconsin-Washington County, in West Bend Wisconsin.
The donation, made in July, builds on a relationship with West Bend that dates to 1859 when Louis Lucas opened a blacksmith shop and began supplying the area with farm implements and machines.
“We are delighted to donate a new Gehl R 190 compact skid loader to the University Wisconsin-Washington County,” said Dan Miller, CEO Manitou Americas Inc. and president of the Manitou Group CE-Compact Equipment Division. “With a history in West Bend dating back to 1859, Manitou Americas is honored to be affiliated with UW-WC and work together as a part of our community. We have the right equipment to help the university maintain the campus grounds and are proud to be able to assist them.”
The university uses the Gehl skid loader to do multiple landscape projects on the campus. Some of the projects include: hauling and spreading mulch, digging out stumps, clearing snow from lots and sidewalks and unloading heavy pallets.
“The donation of the Gehl skid loader is a tremendous benefit to our campus maintenance.” said UW-WC Dean Dr. Paul Price. “Gehl equipment is dependable and very versatile, so it is used extensively by the maintenance staff. The donation is a wonderful demonstration of the importance that The Manitou Group places on education in our community. We thank Dan Miller and Manitou for their continued support.”
