Check out Atlas Copco’s new innovative LT compaction tool

Atlas Copco, a leading provider of sustainable productivity solutions, has doubled sales of its LT rammer series as customers have embraced its ergonomic, user-friendly design. The rammers are versatile compaction tools developed for work on cohesive and granular soils in a wide range of applications, such as repairs and improvements to trenches and foundations.

“The LT rammer is built with the operator in focus to ensure that it is easy to handle, effective and safe for the construction workers,” said Andrew Walker, president of Atlas Copco’s construction technique business area. “We are happy to see that construction companies are recognizing the benefits that come with using this tool.”

Since the upgraded LT6005 rammer and the smaller LT5005 rammer were introduced in August 2014 they have more than doubled sales in the United Kingdom, and significantly increased sales in markets such as Australia, Brazil, China, Czech Republic, Poland, Spain and the United States. The key to achieving that was the close relationship between Atlas Copco designers and dealers as well as the construction companies that use the tool. The result was a slimmer design that facilitates handling where space is tight, including close to walls, posts and in narrow trenches. At a mere 6 inches wide, the LT5005 is 3 inches smaller than its predecessor and the LT6005 is 9 inches wide – 2 inches shorter than the previous model.

Atlas Copco’s Construction Technique business area provides construction and demolition tools, portable compressors, pumps and generators, lighting towers, and compaction and paving equipment. The business area offers specialty rental and provides service through a global network. Construction Technique innovates for sustainable productivity in infrastructure, civil works, oil and gas, energy, drilling and road construction projects.

The new LT6005 rammer has won two prestigious design awards this year; the iF Product Design Award in Germany and the Swedish Grand Award of Design in the Public’s Favorite category.
