Video Walkaround: Takeuchi’s TL11R3 Compact Track Loader Debuts with New EH Controls
Machine Heads Dives into Latest CTL During Takeuchi Media Days
Takeuchi’s newest compact track loader, the TL11R3, is the focus of the latest episode of Machine Heads, Compact Equipment’s signature video series. Filmed at the company’s 37,000-sq-ft Training Center in Pendergrass, Georgia, this video walkaround features regional product manager David Caldwell giving viewers a detailed tour of the new machine. Filmed at Takeuchi’s Georgia Training Hub
The video was shot outside the Takeuchi Training Center (photo above), located at 113 Bonnie Valentine Way. This facility neighbors the company’s North American headquarters and hosts technical and sales training for dealer technicians, corporate trainers and sales teams. The walkaround took place during Takeuchi’s Media Days event, where dealers and journalists got a firsthand look at the TL11R3’s capabilities in action.
New EH Controls for Greater Precision
The TL11R3 introduces Takeuchi’s first electric-over-hydraulic (EH) control system in a compact track loader. Takeuchi is known for its pilot controls, so this is a big step. The EH setup improves operator precision and reduces fatigue. It also enables key features, including:
- Instant switching between ISO and H control patterns
- Self-leveling for lift arms (up and down)
- Programmable arm height limits for low-clearance work
- Adjustable boom, bucket and travel sensitivity
Power and Performance Options
The TL11R3 is available in both standard- and high-flow versions. High-flow models offer up to 40.5 gallons per minute (gpm) at 3,480 psi of auxiliary flow — enough to power demanding attachments like mulchers and cold planers. Standard flow tops off at 23.1 gpm. Flow rates and presets can be adjusted from inside the cab. This CTL’s radial lift design delivers breakout force and lifting strength with fewer moving parts, making it ideal for dirt work and grading. Key specs include:
- Operating weight: 11,650 lbs (canopy model) or 11,980 lbs (cab model)
- Rated operating capacity: 2,735 lbs
- Bucket breakout force: 7,958 lbs
- Ground clearance: 12.4 in.
- Track width: 18 in.
Undercarriage and Frame Built to Last
The undercarriage has been completely redesigned for this new, and it now includes:
- Double flanged front and rear idlers
- Heavy-duty sealed rollers with metal face seals
- Double-reduction planetary drives
- Welded, one-piece steel frame
These features increase strength and help protect key systems from dirt and debris. The CTL also includes a lockable engine hood, rear bumper and swing-out cooling module for easy maintenance access.
Inside the Cab
Operators will find modern creature comforts in the TL11R3:
- 8-in. touchscreen monitor
- Bluetooth radio and HVAC controls
- High-back suspension seat with six-way adjustability
- Rearview and side cameras with 270-degree visibility (standard on high-flow models)
The cab door can remain open during operation, regardless of arm position.
Telematics Standard for Five Years
Takeuchi includes its Fleet Management (TFM) telematics system with the TL11R3. TFM delivers real-time data on machine health, location and run time. It also allows remote diagnostics and geofencing to improve security and maintenance planning.
