Since 1963, Takeuchi Mfg. has been a pioneer in the compact equipment industry. Founder and AEM Hall of Fame inductee Akio Takeuchi focused on customer needs from the very start, determining what problems customers might have and how he could help solve them. Over the past six decades, Takeuchi has maintained that focus, continuing to develop and manufacture compact equipment that can help customers do their jobs faster, better and more efficiently. Takeuchi says its compact track loaders are designed and engineered with power, strength and maneuverability, offering a high level of quality, durability and performance. Each of the company’s five track loader models features a two-year, 2,000-hour, full-machine warranty.
Available in both radial- and vertical-lift configurations, Takeuchi track loaders are versatile enough to meet the needs of customers from all walks of life. Each Takeuchi track loader is purpose built and features a unique undercarriage design with model-specific components that are matched to each specific platform for greater durability. A fully welded track frame incorporates a unitary design with multiple cross members for superior strength and rigidity, says Takeuchi. Double reduction planetary drives produce power for torque and performance in the most demanding applications.
Excellent Operator Stations and a Full Line of Attachments
The spacious operator stations on Takeuchi track loaders feature a deluxe, high-back suspension seat with multiple height adjustments, reducing fatigue and placing operators in the optimum position to see the attachment’s edge. Pilot-operated, low-effort joystick controls run all loader and travel functions with precision and responsiveness, says Takeuchi.
All new Takeuchi track loaders feature a standard 5.7-in. color monitor and rearview camera that allow the operator to have a much broader view for greater peace of mind and enhanced jobsite awareness. Takeuchi Fleet Management (TFM) is standard for two years on its compact excavator and track loader lineups. TFM allows users to remotely connect and view the location, health and service needs of their machines, protecting their investments and minimizing downtime.
In early 2021, Takeuchi began offering a full line of attachments for land management, construction and agriculture, as well as snow removal attachments and brooms. The attachment lines include popular multi-purpose buckets, dozer blades, 4-in-1 buckets and many different grapple buckets. Takeuchi has also expanded its hydraulically driven attachment offerings, which now include forestry drum and disc mulchers, open/closed front brush cutters, rock crushers, stump grinders and snowblowers, just to name a few.
The TL8R2 is Takeuchi’s newest track loader model. The TL8R2 is packed full of features such as creep mode, automatic shift, two-speed travel, a fully redesigned cabin with 5.7-in color monitor and backup camera. The company’s quiet-ride undercarriage reduces noise and vibration, greatly improving ride quality and operator comfort. Completing Takeuchi’s current lineup are the radial-lift TL6R and TL12R2 models and the vertical-lift TL10V2 and TL12V2 models, enabling customers to select just the right machine for their specific applications. Takeuchi also plans to introduce a new track loader model in 2025.
Advice to Compact Track Loader Buyers
“At Takeuchi, we see many compact track loaders (CTLs) used in land-clearing applications,” said Lee Padgett, national product manager at Takeuchi. “When purchasing a CTL for this purpose, be sure to prioritize models with high-performance hydraulic systems and high-flow capabilities. Some CTLs, like our TL12R2 and TL12V2 models, feature a proportional auxiliary hydraulic circuits and optional high-flow systems. These specifications make it possible to use demanding land-clearing attachments like mulchers and brush cutters. It’s essential to properly match flow rates between the machine and attachment to avoid damage and maintain efficiency. Additionally, land-clearing applications require close attention to the manufacturer’s recommended routine maintenance, such as cleaning couplers and monitoring hydraulic oil temperatures, to extend system life and performance. Proper attachment use and maintenance can enhance versatility and return on investment for land management projects.”
