The ASV brand started in 1983, and the company quickly unveiled the Track Truck — one of the first rubber-tracked work vehicles — in 1984. The company’s first commercial rubber-tracked loader, the MD-70 Posi-Track, debuted in 1990. Today, the ASV product line consists of 11 compact track loader models and two skid steer loaders, ranging from the smallest sit-in compact track loaders in the industry to some of the most powerful. In 2020, ASV introduced the Max-Series line, which includes compact track loaders and skid steers featuring a premium operator experience.

ASV’s Max-Series Lineup

The Max-Series lineup includes the RT-65 (radial), VT-75 (vertical), VT-80 (vertical), VT-80 Forestry (vertical), VT-100 (vertical), VT-100 Forestry (vertical), RT-135 (radial), RT-135 Forestry (radial) compact track loaders and the RS-75 (radial) and VS-75 (vertical) skid steers. The machines provide premium 360-degree visibility, featuring a floor-to-ceiling visibility area made possible by all clear sides and a frameless door. This gives the operator 52 percent more clear area in the optional enclosed cab compared to previous ASV models.

Operators can work in comfort with the optional fully suspended, fully adjustable seat. A roomier cab includes up to 2 in. more width at the shoulders, 8 in. more width at the knees and up to 4.5 in. more foot room. The cab also features available Bluetooth radio, improved speakers and an optional 7-in. touchscreen display. Additionally, the Max-Series includes standard LED lighting and the industry’s first compact loader roof escape hatch. ASV’s RT-25 (radial), RT-40 (radial) and RT-50 (radial) are the industry’s smallest sit-in compact track loaders, ideal for a wide range of users, including private landowners, landscapers, rental houses and utility contractors. Featuring operating weights between 3,755 and 5,180 lbs, rated operating capacities between 665 and 1,400 lbs and ground pressures as low as 3.1 psi, the loaders are productive alternatives to stand-on and walk-behind loaders and feature the comfort and protection of a cab.

ASV’s Mid-Range CTLs

ASV’s mid-range size class of compact track loaders includes the RT-65, VT-75, VT-80 and VT-80 Forestry. The machines feature rated operating capacities from 2,000 to 2,800 lbs and offer optimal serviceability features, with the launched-in-2024 RT-65, VT-75, VT-80 and VT-80 Forestry featuring swing-out radiators, top hoods and side doors to allow access to all sides of the engine compartment. ASV’s largest model, the RT-135 (radial), boasts a 132-gross-hp Cummins engine and an industry-leading 50-gpm high flow, also available in the fully guarded and equipped RT-135 Forestry.

Compact Track Loader Advice to Buyers

ASV’s VT-100 Posi-Track Loaders

“Don’t underestimate the value of a comfortable cab,” says Peter Ovrebo, director of product management, Yanmar Compact Equipment North America. “It’s easy to look at comfort features and think of them as ‘nice-to-have’ but not necessary. But whether you’re an owner-operator or manage a crew of operators, a spacious, comfortable cab with ergonomic features and ease-of-visibility makes long days easier and can improve productivity.”
