Machine Heads Video: Examining Case’s TL100 Mini Skid Steer with Brad Stemper
On this episode of Machine Heads Interviews, we sit down with Brad Stemper of Case Construction Equipment to discuss the mini skid steer category of machines and Case’s new TL100. The mini skid steer machine category was established nearly 30 years ago, but in the last five years there has been a flurry of activity with new brands and new machines entering the market. In this video, we discuss Case’s approach to the mini skid steer market and the features Case felt were the most important to get right in a first-entry machine like the TL100.
The Case TL100 Mini Skid Steer Overview
Case Construction Equipment introduced its first mini track loader at the start of 2024. The TL100 mini track loader marks a new product category for Case, designed to complement its extensive lineup of construction machinery. This compact machine is aimed at helping landscapers and contractors tackle various challenges on jobsites with greater efficiency.
The TL100 offers a versatile and compact solution for contractors, providing the ability to reduce manual labor, minimize their operational footprint and maximize productivity, all while being easily transportable via a pickup truck and trailer. With an operating weight of 3,536 lbs for the narrow track version and 3,783 lbs for the wide track, the TL100 is powered by a 25-hp Kubota diesel engine. It features a 7.9-gal fuel tank and a standard auxiliary flow rating of 13.2 gpm at 2,800 psi, making it a powerful addition to any contractor’s toolkit.
One of the standout features of the TL100 is its compact design, which allows it to maneuver easily through tight spaces such as yard gates and tree groves. The TL100 is equipped with a 14-pin electrical connector and a Common Industry Interface, which offers maximum attachment flexibility and performance. With over 40 attachment options available, this mini track loader can handle a wide range of tasks, including digging, earthmoving, setting fence posts, grappling brush, and grading, effectively replacing the need for multiple laborers.
In a crowded stand-on tool carrier market, Case needed to distinguish its TL100 with unique features. One significant differentiator is the forward cooling pack design. Unlike some competitors that place the cooling system at the rear near the operator, Case positions it at the front. This design keeps the heat away from the operator, enhancing comfort during use.
Another key feature that sets the TL100 apart is its control system. Case has incorporated true pilot controls, a design they have perfected in other products like backhoes. The hydraulic-over-hydraulic controls offer superior precision, smooth operation, and excellent featherability, providing operators with a refined and responsive experience. The TL100 also boasts ergonomic enhancements, such as well-positioned joysticks and a centrally located operator station. The hip pad is designed for comfort and safety, featuring a wraparound style that securely fits the operator, enhancing both comfort and safety during operation.
The Case TL100 exemplifies a cost-effective tool carrier that delivers substantial power, precision, and versatility. Its combination of features makes the TL100 a game-changing addition to Case’s lineup, empowering contractors to elevate their productivity and efficiency on the job. Learn more in the video above.
