Underground construction equipment manufacturer Ditch Witch has formed a partnership with bull riding team, the Oklahoma Wildcatters.

Headquartered in Perry in northern Oklahoma, Ditch Witch has been a major supporter of underground construction firms since 1949, the company says. Aiming to design “rugged and reliable equipment” for construction crews, the company has had a hand in helping those crews operate smoothly in underground environments around the globe.

Ditch Witch president Kevin Smith says the partnership highlights the groups’ Oklahoman roots. Throughout the state, the two companies “represent hardworking people who value resilience and pride in doing difficult jobs the right way,” Ditch Witch says.

“For us, this partnership reflects a shared mentality,” Smith says. “Our customers and these athletes both thrive in rugged environments where time is money. It’s a natural fit because they are both built the same way. Built like you.”

Supporting the Wildcatters

Under the terms of the new partnership, Ditch Witch branding will appear throughout the Wildcatters’ team season, the firm says. Additionally, the company will provide the bull riding team with fan engagement activities and other promotional initiatives throughout the year.

“Ditch Witch represents many of the same qualities our team and fans value,” says Wildcatters CEO Brandon Bates. “This partnership brings together two organizations connected by resilience, earned trust and the ability to deliver in demanding situations. There is a natural authenticity between the people who support this sport and the people who keep critical infrastructure projects moving every day.”

With a dealer network of more than 175 locations worldwide, Ditch Witch aims to shine a light on its home state with the new partnership. Smith says there’s certainly a resemblance between the two teams.

“We see a real connection between the Wildcatters, our customers and the crews who rely on our equipment every day,” Smith says. “Both are made up of people who show up ready, stay focused and deliver when it matters most.”

Oklahoma City’s Paycom Center, home of the current NBA Champion Oklahoma City Thunder, will play host to this year’s Wildcatter Days event as well, running from July 31 to Aug. 2.
