Although any disaster is tragic, engineering failures, such as the Oroville Dam, have played a pivotal part in advancing the civil engineering industry and developing new technologies. An educational resource, developed by Ohio University’s online Master of Science in Civil Engineering program, highlights 5 civil engineering breakthroughs that led to design breakthroughs and new technologies.
