Sage Oil Vac Adds All-Weather Capability to Non-CDL Lube Truck Lineup

Sage Oil Vac Adds All-Weather Capability to Non-CDL Lube Truck Lineup

Sage Oil Vac Inc. has expanded its non-CDL lube truck capability by adding an enclosed-body model with heaters that deliver all-season performance. When outdoor temperatures plummet, the non-CDL enclosed lube truck minimizes oil viscosity to ensure hassle-free fluid transfer.

“We recognize the challenges service technicians face when they exchange fluid in cold climates. The non-CDL enclosed lube truck model builds on the greater maneuverability and less restrictive licensing requirement benefits of a Class 5/6 truck by adding all-weather oil change performance,” says Aaron Sage, Sage Oil Vac CEO. “It continues the Sage Oil Vac legacy of designing solutions to overcome workforce challenges.”

A Miller CabEn heater and two Eberspächer diesel heaters keep your operation from freezing in its tracks. These heaters, paired with enclosed tanks, ensure oil viscosity stays low enough to flow in even the coldest environments.

Non-CDL Trucks Fill Emerging Demand

With certified drivers in high demand and short supply, a non-CDL service truck significantly expands your potential labor pool. Yet they remain perfectly sized for preventive maintenance on all types of equipment in your fleet — from dozers and excavators to rental generators.

Large equipment can be serviced with the smaller non-CDL lube truck. Space can be tight on many jobsites and trying to maneuver a large tandem-axle truck or trailer can be challenging. A single-axle non-CDL service truck is the solution on these crowded sites. These lighter-weight trucks can also perform better in rough terrain than their larger tandem-axle counterparts. If your operation travels between jobsites and encounters difficult terrain, smaller trucks like the Sage Oil Vac non-CDL models may be your best choice for a heavy-duty maintenance vehicle.

Non-CDL trucks also come with a lower initial investment than Class 7/8 trucks and their smaller displacement engines mean fuel savings. And, with both open and enclosed options, you can select the best solution for your jobsite maintenance needs.

Equipped for the Job

The new Sage Oil Vac non-CDL enclosed lube body is constructed of a steel subframe with aluminum cabinets and components to optimize weight savings, similar to its open-body non-CDL truck counterpart. The enclosure provides generous dry storage space with tool and filter storage including five boxes and more than 60 cubic feet of space. Removable roof panels also provide easy tank access. Eight product tanks provide a capacity of 480 gallons of fresh fluid and 280 gallons of used fluids. This includes:

  • Two 120-gal (454.25-L) fresh oil tanks
  • Three 60-gal (227.13-L) fresh oil tanks
  • A 60-gal (227.13-L) fresh coolant tank
  • A 220-gal (832.79-L) used oil tank
  • A 60-gal (227.13-L) used coolant tank
  • A 120-lb (54.4kg) grease drum

Sage Oil Vac non-CDL lube trucks feature fluid control panels to make fluid loading a cinch from ground level. From diesel generator maintenance to traditional fleet maintenance, a non-CDL lube truck body is economical and packaged for operator convenience. Operators can easily view fluid levels with LED indicators and make changes with centrally located controls — both available in the fluid reels cabinet.

The Sage Advantage

Exclusive Sage Oil Vac pump-free vacuum technology powered by a Miller EnPak A30 compressor and generator and a 15-gallon air tank adds to the efficiency advantages of the new enclosed non-CDL lube truck. This low-maintenance fluid exchange system can vacuum fill products at up to 20 gallons per minute through the Sage Oil Vac barrel straw. Plus, you can vacuum hot motor oil from equipment at up to 8 gallons per minute with no moving parts.

Clean, sealed tanks keep contaminants out of fresh fluids and prevent spillage on the job. No pumps translate to fewer maintenance problems for a lower cost of ownership. Traditional lube equipment uses square corner tanks. Sage Oil Vac goes a different route with rounded, bottom-draining storage tanks offering extended life. Square-corner tanks are subject to cracking, which can introduce contaminants to the fluid.

Sage Oil Vac Non-CDL Lube Trucks Come Standard With

  • Barrel straws for rapidly loading bulk oil into the fresh oil tanks.
  • Used Filter Receptacles (UFR) to secure and hold used oil filers as they drain, allowing crews to quickly vacuum up the used oil.
  • A Filter Stinger designed to puncture used filters so operators can vacuum out oil before removing the filter from the machine.

Combine these features with the other benefits of an enclosed non-CDL lube truck — expanded labor pool, increased maneuverability and all-season performance — and crews get a powerful preventive maintenance tool.
