New AGCO-SDF Alliance Expands Massey Ferguson’s Low-Mid HP Offerings

AGCO and SDF Enter New Partnership in Low Horsepower Tractor Segment

Two tractor ag giants, AGCO and SDF, have forged a new partnership to expand the Massey Ferguson portfolio. This alliance targets the low to mid horsepower tractor segment with models that deliver up to 85 hp. The move sets the stage for a refreshed large frame utility tractor range that can serve global markets — just as Massey Ferguson also recently announced a new series of compact utility tractors. It looks to be a busy 2025 for the AGCO brand.

The Partnership: A New Era in Tractor Manufacturing

AGCO and SDF signed a supply agreement that hopes to reshape the low-mid horsepower tractor market. Under this agreement, SDF will produce proprietary tractors for Massey Ferguson. The new tractors will offer up to 85 hp and address the needs of diverse global markets. The agreement gives AGCO access to SDF’s advanced production capabilities. SDF employs a vertically integrated production system that ensures quality and cost efficiency. This partnership aligns with AGCO’s strategy to streamline its utility tractor portfolio and boost customer satisfaction. The refreshed models will roll out through the Massey Ferguson global distribution network beginning mid-2025, noting we’ve heard they might not make it to the North American market till 2026. From the press release:

“AGCO and Massey Ferguson’s Farmer-First approach is centered on creating a consistently exceptional experience for our farmers,” said Luis Felli, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Massey Ferguson. “We are extremely proud to have a partner like SDF who shares our passion for serving the world’s farmers. This partnership will strengthen Massey Ferguson’s position in the low-mid horsepower tractor segment globally, allowing us to provide more farmers with straightforward, dependable and high-quality equipment to drive their productivity and maximize profit.”

The collaboration also aims to drive profitable growth. AGCO and SDF aim to leverage best-cost manufacturing practices, high-quality production standards and economies of scale to produce a new line of popular chore tractors. By combining AGCO’s global brand strength with SDF’s engineering expertise, the companies hope to deliver products that meet the evolving needs of modern farmers and machinery operators.
