Innovative Iron Awards: Doosan Portable Power
The heart and soul of a good company is the creativity it brings to a marketplace. Innovation (as we’ll call it) is both the knowledge a business bestows to an industry and also the imagination in which it approaches its products and customers. In many ways, 2014 has been a tough year for contractors and manufacturers, so now it seems like an appropriate time to celebrate some of the big success stories — contractors who have become leaner and more agile, companies that have diversified and gained market share and manufacturers who have kept trailblazing with ever more efficient and innovative equipment. With this article we salute the companies (from Cat to Kubota) that have changed the commercial equipment market over the last 12 months with their unique, interesting and innovative machines, engines and technologies.
Doosan Portable Power Introduces Natural Gas Gen Sets
Doosan Portable Power introduced the new NG160, NG225 and NG295 in June 2014. This rugged and reliable line of generators is designed to run on wellhead natural gas and propane to ensure continuous operation in remote locations. The three models are equipped with the innovative and patent-pending Onboard Scrubber System that removes excess dirt and water from the wellhead gas. These natural gas generators are also equipped with an automatic dual-fuel switch, allowing the generator to operate on propane, as well as natural gas. This ensures continuous generator operation in the event that wellhead gas flow is interrupted or unavailable. Generator diagnostics and uptime are also supported by a telematics system that allows fleet and service managers to remotely observe machine use and performance in secluded or difficult-to-monitor locations.
