Ellsworth, Wisconsin Family Wins Free Use of a Gehl 5640E Skid Loader
Gehl Co. is awarding hard-working equipment professionals with great machines – sometimes for free. The leading manufacturer of compact equipment, used in construction and agriculture applications, awarded the free use of a Gehl model 5640E skid loader to the Huber family of Ellsworth, Wis., at the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, held in July 2010.
John Huber along with his son, Hank, own and operate Huber Farms Inc., their family dairy farm that has been in the family for six generations. They milk about 62 cows and farm approximately 400 acres. Hank Huber, John’s youngest son, is a senior at University-Wisconsin River Falls in the Agricultural Business program. John and Hank employ students from the college regularly and have really had some very talented young people on the farm over the years. John’s eldest son, Jake, is an F18 carrier plane pilot with the United States Navy and was recently promoted to Lt. Commander.
“I am so very proud of both my sons,” John commented.
John and Hank Huber were volunteering at the Wisconsin Farm Technology Days show in July and stopped by the Gehl booth. On a whim they entered to drawing to win the free use of a Gehl 5640E skid loader.
“We thought we’d maybe win a hat or something,” John stated. “We never thought we’d actually win the skid loader.”
John and Hank have already put the Gehl 5640E to good use around their farm and have fallen in love with the additional power, bigger tires and the full cab option.
“We can do so much more with the machine and the cab option will be so nice in the cold winter months,” said John.
The skid loader is a necessity on their farm not only for feeding cattle, but for performing a variety of other chores including transplanting trees. Gehl Co. is a leading manufacturer of equipment used worldwide in construction and agricultural applications. Founded in 1859, the company is headquartered in West Bend, Wis.
