New Holland Excavators Summarized — 2018 Spec Guide

Seven Competitive Models Complement Two New Ones on the Way
With seven competitive models to choose from ranging from 1.7 to 6 metric tons, New Holland has the mini excavator that is right for your customers, whether it’s light construction, estate management, specialty agriculture or as part of a rental fleet. Your customers can boost their daily productivity with the smooth, responsive power of compact excavators from New Holland. The advanced hydraulics on the New Holland excavators are designed to be fast, precise, smooth and powerful and include standard auxiliary hydraulics on every model. Whether it is powering a thumb to grab materials, powering an auger to drill holes for a fence or powering a hydraulic hammer to break up patios in a backyard, C-Series excavators’ auxiliary hydraulics power the attachments that allow operators to get the job done easily. New Holland mini excavators feature an Auto-Shift traveling system, which automatically shifts between high and low depending upon load, and an Auto-Idle feature that will automatically reduce engine rpm during inactivity to reduce fuel consumption and operator fatigue.
The E17C, E26C and E37C models are zero tail swing (ZTS), while the E30C, E33C and E60C are short-radius tail swing (SR) models. ZTS and SR excavators allow operators to work more productively in congested areas due to short tail swing and a boom that can be offset left or right within an operating range. New Holland also offers a conventional tail swing unit — the E57C — for those applications where limited space isn’t an issue. A wide entry welcomes operators to the operator station as each model is equipped with a spacious cab area with ample foot room.
All models provide a clear, all-direction view for confident, relaxed operation. Four sides of glass provide 360-degree visibility, allowing operators to feel confident when working or traveling at the jobsites. Floor-to-ceiling sight lines allow operators to remain in the cab for both safety and higher productivity. On cab models, the air conditioner unit is positioned out of the operator’s line of sight. Boom swings not only allow for working in tight spaces but make for greater forward visibility while traveling when angled away from center. Rearview mirrors on both sides further enhance all-around visibility.
All cabs are designed for a comfortable operating experience. An ergonomically designed suspension seat, adjustable arm rests and a spacious environment help reduce operator fatigue. Control levers are easily accessible, and the instrument display is positioned within the line of sight. An upper roof glass in cabs aids in visibility, and a roller shade is provided to reduce glare and sunlight. Hydraulic spools in the control valve are engineered to provide more precise flow to each function with less effort, providing fast, smooth operation.
New Holland says its excavators are ruggedly built to deliver outstanding performance and include many of the same robust design features found only on larger excavators. New Holland excavators feature ground-line serviceability access allowing operators to easily perform daily maintenance checks. This results in more uptime and higher productivity. Wide and open access provides easy sight checks of key service points, hoses, belts and fluid levels for easy troubleshooting and daily maintenance.
Advice to Buyers
“With a myriad of attachment options available, the versatility of compact excavators has grown tremendously,” says Joe Boufford, construction equipment marketing manager at New Holland. “However, at the end of the day, excavators were made to dig. Therefore, choosing the right bucket/coupler for your machine is crucial to productivity. There are several factors to consider whether you are doing ditch digging, cemetery or general excavation work.”
