The Country’s Biggest Landscape Show (GIE+EXPO) Returns to Louisville (Oct. 19-21)

Thousands of design/build crews, groundskeepers, golf course professionals, hardscapers, equipment dealers, maintenance crews and landscape professionals will flock to Louisville, Ky., to attend seminars, explore indoor booths and operate machines in the expansive outdoor area of GIE+EXPO. The show’s castle is the Kentucky Exposition Center, which has a big enough outdoor area for global manufacturers to show off their next generation of commercial equipment. GIE+EXPO’s 2016 trade show dates are Wednesday, Oct. 19 (which is Dealer Day only), and Oct. 20-21 (for all other green industry participants).

dealer-day-8730_1The big draw every year is the Outdoor Demonstration Area, which has expanded to a whopping 20 acres. New this year, the co-located Hardscape North America’s Demo Area is moving to a paved spot adjacent to the turf, increasing the available space to more than 20 acres and making way for more GIE+EXPO demo exhibits. The Outdoor Demonstration Area is just steps away from GIE+EXPO’s indoor exhibits, which will be open Thursday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Friday, Oct. 21, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The indoor area will feature exhibits displaying new products and equipment like hand-held and walk-behind equipment, ride-on mowers, compact construction equipment and UTVs.

gie-expo_1Speaking of UTVs, the inaugural lineup of UTV University presentations at GIE+EXPO will feature proven powersports dealer training specialists and a roundtable discussion about the state of the UTV industry. The sessions will be held the first day of the show, Oct. 19. That’s on top of the multitude of other conferences and programs that range from School of Grounds Management to Dealer Technician Training. Of course, the best part might be the free concerts downtown at Fourth Street Live! Back at GIE+EXPO for a third year by popular demand, The Crashers will play on Wednesday night. Brooke Eden is a bold country singer taking the stage Thursday night with headliner Joe Nichols, and rockers Kirby’s Dreamland and Wax Factory take over Friday.
