Makita Releases New XGT High Power Battery
Makita U.S.A. Inc. has released a new 40V max XGT 4.0Ah High Power Battery (BL4040F) that can deliver more power, run cooler and provide the power needed to maintain performance under continuous heavy load applications.
“The new BL4040F battery is a perfect example of Makita’s ongoing advancement in battery technologies.” Said Robert Monroe, product manager, driving and fastening, Makita USA. “The power achieved with the new technology allows users to maximize the performance of the 40V max XGT line of products while maintaining a smaller form factor. Introducing this battery into our lineup expands our ability to meet every user’s needs.”
The new high power XGT battery features cylindrical 21700 tabless cells that allow the flow of electricity through many paths rather than concentrating through a couple of tabs. This improves battery efficiency, thermal management, and overall battery performance.
High Performance, More Compact
The new High Power Battery delivers up to 35% more power than the current 40V max XGT 4.0ah battery (BL4040) and is engineered to run up to 32% cooler while maintaining performance under continuous heavy load. The new BL4040F is also 34% more compact than a 40V max XGT 5.0Ah battery. The battery reaches full charge in 45 minutes or less. This helps users spend more time working and less time with batteries sitting on the charger.
Convenience Features
The High Power Battery features four bright green L.E.D. indicators that allows the user to clearly see charge level. XGT batteries feature an advanced design with an impact-resistant outer case and shock-absorbing inner-liner engineered to protect the battery in harsh jobsite environments. The digital communication within XGT optimizes performance to provide up to 2X longer sustained power under heavy-load applications. The digital communication within XGT actively monitors and protects against overload, over-discharge and overheating.
XGT: One System of Cordless Equipment and Tools
The new High Power Battery is part of Makita XGT, an expanding system of 40V max and 80V max cordless equipment and tools. XGT gives users one system, from core handheld tools like drills and impact drivers to equipment-grade products including high-capacity saws, rotary hammers, and power cutters – all powered by 40V max XGT batteries. The expanding XGT System offers 125+ products in 2024.
