Check Out Makita’s Sweet New Rotary Hammer with HEPA Dust Extractor
Makita U.S.A. Inc., manufacturer of high-quality professional tools, power equipment, and accessories, has released the 1-in. SDS-PLUS AVT Rotary Hammer, with HEPA Dust Extractor with D-Handle (HR2663). It features a powerful 8 AMP motor that delivers 2.1 ft-lbs of impact energy to handle the most demanding applications.
“The new 1-in. SDS-PLUS AVT Rotary Hammer delivers power and performance where concrete pros need it most,” said Rufus Richardson, senior product manager for commercial products, Makita U.S.A., Inc. “The HR2663 gives the user an OSHA Compliant Hammer with a d-shaped handle that allows use in overhead drilling applications. It can also be used for horizontal and downward anchor setting applications. The versatility of the HR2653 will further expand Makita’s Rotary Hammer Portfolio.”
Less Vibration
The HR2663 is equipped with Makita Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT), which is an internal counterbalance system for significantly less vibration. The AVT system is essential for users who are running a rotary hammer for longer periods of time to reduce operator fatigue. AVT means significantly less vibration with no compromise in power and performance.
HEPA Dust Extraction, OSHA Compliance
The included HEPA Dust Extractor is OSHA Table 1 compliant for Exposure to Respirable Crystalline Silica (rule 1926.1153). The on-board dust extractor includes a filter cleaning mechanism designed to help maintain optimum suction efficiency. The dust extractor is activated by the tool for operator convenience and is equipped with an efficient HEPA filtration system that captures 99.97% of particulates .3 microns and larger. It has a transparent dust container with an accurate level indicator of collected material for added convenience.
Power and Performance
The HR2663 has an 8 AMP motor that delivers 2.1 ft-lbs of impact energy to handle the most demanding applications. The three modes of operation offers “rotation only”, “hammering with rotation” or “chipping only” for multiple applications. Modes can be easily changed with a recessed hammer-function selector, which is located below the gear housing for improved durability.
Convenience Features
Convenience features include an ergonomic pistol grip handle with a rubberized soft grip provides increased operator comfort. There is a retractable hook that allows the tool to remain close by but never in the way. It also features a depth stop adjustment that allows drilling up to 7-1/2-in. deep for increased capacity.
