CE: Julie, thanks so much for taking the time today. We very much appreciate it. We wanted to get a sense of what track loaders were the most popular these days, and with Bobcat being one of the top brands in the industry, we definitely wanted to know what was trending with the company right now. So, what is your newest, hottest compact track loader right now? What’s cool and new about this unit? When was it released, and what new differentiators does it bring to the category?

The Bobcat T66 has been one of the more popular Bobcat compact track loaders sold in the past couple of years. This machine was introduced in 2020 as part of Bobcat’s next generation of compact loaders. It still offers uncompromising reliability and durability, enhanced performance and unmatched operator experience. Operators choose the T66 because of its unique balance of power and maneuverability. This gives them impressive lifting and pushing capabilities while minimizing ground disturbance. This machine’s quick two-speed travel option allows operators to efficiently move materials like dirt, landscaping materials and debris. It is also highly customizable. From a basic configuration to the best that Bobcat offers, operators choose the features that will be the best fit for their short- and long-term needs.
The roomy T66 cab is also sealed and pressurized. Operators can stay comfortable and work longer with optional automatic heat and air conditioning. Operators should spend time reading the operation and maintenance manual, which lists specs like operating weight and rated operating capacity. All machines also have visible safety warnings on interior and exterior surfaces and a safety manual that operators should follow.
Understanding the jobsite, you are working at is also important along with having a plan for how you’ll approach the project. Before operating a compact track loader, inspect your job site for hazards — like uneven terrain and steep slopes. Space constraints are also important to consider before operating a compact track loader — especially indoors. While operating the machine, always be aware of your surroundings, especially while turning or changing directions. Visibility is also important when working in inclement weather and working late at night. Always be sure to operate in well-lit areas and utilize the loader’s lights.
Having a plan to properly transport your machine to and from the jobsite is also vital to keep your equipment and attachments in optimal shape. Be aware of your compact track loader’s weight so you can use the proper size truck, trailer and ramp. Load and unload the machine with the heavy end uphill. Before traveling, use the tie down points to secure the loader to the trailer.
