Construction equipment industry veteran Cody Mecham was tapped as the regional sales manager for the expanded McLaughlin Boring Systems Midwest sales territory.
Mecham, of Iowa, is responsible for customers in Colorado, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, Wisconsin and the Greater Chicago area.
McLaughlin is a leading manufacturer of trenchless construction equipment including auger boring machines, Vermeer-branded vacuum excavators and pneumatic piercing tools, as well as locators, directional drills and various attachments. Mecham’s role will be to support McLaughlin’s full product line to dealers and customers.
“Cody brings solid skills and industry experience to McLaughlin, as well as established relationships he has cultivated throughout his career,” said Jeff Wage, vice president of McLaughlin. “Cody’s prior experience with Vermeer and his proximity to its Pella, Iowa, factory lends us the opportunity to engage with customers and dealers and provide the support of our products that our customers expect from McLaughlin.”
He began his career in the automotive field, but quickly transitioned into the construction equipment industry. He joined Vermeer in 2007 as a training specialist and trade show manager. From there, he moved into a product support role working with HDD tooling, and then became a regional sales manager where he was responsible for the business relationship with key Vermeer dealerships.
In 2012, Mecham received his Masters of Business Administration from Salem International University. Mecham enjoys being involved in an industry that improves communities and provides a greater quality of life for people.
“This job is a good balance of working in a professional environment, yet offers the ability to be outdoors and get dirty alongside our customers,” said Mecham.
