Kubota Supports Major League Fishing’s Habitat Restoration at Lake Chickamauga, Tenn.

Supporting Habitat, One Reservoir at a Time
Kubota Tractor Corp. is making more waves in conservation. The company just announced it is continuing its support for Major League Fishing’s Minn Kota Habitat Restoration program with a new initiative at Lake Chickamauga, Tennessee. The April project will focus on revitalizing Wolftever Creek — a prime location for tournaments and fish assessments. From the press release:
“The aging of U.S. reservoirs has been a significant challenge, resulting in habitat loss and declining fish populations,” said Steven Bardin, Fisheries Biologist for MLF. “With our habitat restoration efforts, we aim to implement long-term solutions by deploying structures that support spawning success and overall fish health, which ultimately benefits anglers.”
This effort marks the third of four planned restorations in 2025. Using Kubota equipment and local dealer support, crews will install advanced habitat structures designed to combat the natural decline of U.S. reservoirs. These improvements help support fish health, spawning and ecosystem balance — all crucial for recreational and competitive fishing. Kubota doubled its funding commitment for this year, also contributing operators and machines for safe, efficient structure placement. Next up: Kentucky Lake on June 7, which will wrap up the year’s efforts.
“Kubota is proud to support MLF’s habitat restoration projects in 2025,” said Jim Jorgensen, senior advertising and marketing manager, Kubota Tractor Corporation. “By providing funding, equipment from our local Kubota dealers, as well as operators and staff volunteers for these projects, we’re contributing to the long-term health of our waterways and supporting the fishing community.”
Investing in Communities: Hometown Proud Grant Program
Kubota’s community focus goes beyond the water. The company’s fifth annual Hometown Proud grant program is currently accepting applications from nonprofits through May 9th! Projects that improve local spaces — from gardens to trails to rodeo arenas — are eligible. Each winner receives $25,000 in cash and a $25,000 Kubota equipment voucher. That’s $50,000 in community impact per winner, with one recipient selected from each of Kubota’s 10 operating districts. Kubota’s 1,100 dealers help ensure these grants make a difference at the local level. Past projects have supported youth fields, food banks, public spaces, and agriculture programs.
Post Malone, Tractors and Tailgates
Kubota is breaking genre boundaries with music icon Post Malone. The Grapevine native partnered with Kubota to maintain his personal property using compact tractors and a skid steer. The company is also sponsoring his Travelin’ Tailgate fan experience at 10 stadium tour stops. Fans can explore Kubota machines up close at each stop. A related sweepstakes supports the Farmer Veteran Coalition with a $1 donation for every entry, up to $10,000.
Kubota’s SVL50x Gets the Machine Heads Spotlight
Since we’re all here, we’ll mention that Compact Equipment’s Machine Heads video series recently featured Kubota’s smallest CTL to date — the SVL50x. At just 48 in. wide, this compact track loader is built for tight residential jobs and urban infill work. Highlights include:
- 49.6-hp diesel engine
- 1,176-lb ROC
- EH controls with creep mode and custom loader response
- Touchscreen, rearview camera and deluxe cab options
Wayne Grayson’s two episodes (one above and the other one is here) provide a deep dive into this micro muscle machine. It’s not just a scaled-down CTL — it’s a reimagined solution for modern, compact jobsites.
Kubota’s Growing Brand, Rooted in Action
From restoring fisheries and funding local gardens to supporting stadium concerts and backwoods rally races, Kubota isn’t chasing attention — it’s earning it. With community investment, bold partnerships and a clear focus on compact performance, Kubota continues to shape both landscapes and culture.
