Iron Age Footwear Continues Support of Young American Trade Workers
Iron Age Footwear continues its partnership and proud support of young American trade workers through its three-plus year partnership with SkillsUSA. In addition to its support of various Skills USA initiatives and chapters throughout the year, it will once again highlight the partnership at the annual TECHSPO and SkillsUSA Championships in Louisville this week.
With 53 state and territorial associations across 18,000 classrooms reaching 427,000 young future trade workers annually, SkillsUSA helps instructors to reach and engage their students for trade success in over 130 trade job categories. TECHSPO, held every June, invites 18,000 people to witness 6,500 future trade workers competing in their respective trades.
Iron Age has been rewarding, supporting and encouraging SkillsUSA competitors from across the nation for years in fields such as Welding, Welding Fabrication, TeamWorks, Plumbing, HVAC and Masonry. More than $25,000 in sponsorships, awards and prizes have been given to invest in the future of American trade workers by the hardworking footwear brand that finds its origins helping iron tradesmen build some of America’s most iconic buildings, ships and infrastructure.
“SkillsUSA has had a very good relationship with Iron Age and appreciates all it does for our futured skilled workforce,” notes Dave Worden, program director for SkillsUSA. “The enthusiasm that we receive is great, from the students and Iron Age. Iron Age has always stepped up to help support our future trade workers.”
Brent Jennings, Brand Manager for Iron Age Footwear, adds, “Iron Age can think of no better investment in American-made industry than to invest in its future by supporting, encouraging and working with SkillsUSA students and advisors. We can’t wait to watch them show their skills in Louisville this week.”
