Rhino Linings Corporation Acquires Tobin Manufacturing
When it comes to Compact Equipment contractors, Rhino Linings Corp. makes high-tech linings aimed at protecting your hardworking truck — polyurethane, polyurea, polyaspartic and epoxy coatings. Now the company is looking to expand its operations (which actually includes everything from military to floor coatings) with a new range of high-tech equipment.
Yesterday, Rhino announced the acquisition of Tobin Mfg. LLC, a leading manufacturer of two component positive displacement meter/mix/dispense equipment. Tobin equipment dispenses polyurethane elastomers, epoxies and foams into molds for high volume production. The acquisition provides Rhino with a wider customer base and a stronger market position in the polyurethane industry.
“This acquisition strengthens our commitment and position as one of the leading polyurethane systems houses. Tobin Manufacturing’s equipment portfolio fits well with our existing plans for expansion into the custom molding industry. We see great potential in this part of the industry,” said Pierre Gagnon, president and CEO of Rhino Linings Corp.
Tobin designs and manufactures easy-to-maintain dispensing equipment using positive displacement piston rod metering pumps feeding dynamic, static or impingement mixers for processing temperature controlled or hot cast products. This equipment is typically used for casting or injection molding castor wheels, fuel tank liners, automotive body styling kit components, foam and elastomer filter gaskets, rotationally molded mannequins and myriad other parts.
Tobin will relocate its operations to the Rhino facilities in San Diego, Calif.
