New Holland Construction Equipment “Goes Green” with Biodiesel
While it may be the wave of the future, biodiesel blends (up to B20m, which
is 20 percent biodiesel and 80 percent petroleum-based diesel) are already
approved for use in many construction equipment products, including New Holland
compact equipment.
“All New Holland-branded engines will currently operate with B5 biodiesel
fuel [5 percent biodiesel and 95 percent petroleum-based diesel], while several
of our current products are approved to operate on B20 blends, and we expect
more will be approved shortly,” said Kirk Gillette, North American marketing
manager for New Holland. “As an alternative fuel with the ability to lower
emissions and help reduce dependence on foreign oil, biodiesel can also
contribute to lower machinery operating costs.”
Current-production New Holland construction equipment approved for use with
B20 biodiesel blends includes the larger model Super Boom skid steer loaders,
all compact track loaders, loader backhoes, crawler dozers and compact wheel
loaders.
