Multiquip Supplies Florida Police Department with Customized Generators for Hurricanes and Natural Disaster Relief

The Homestead Florida Police Department is located in an area that is prone to natural disasters — specifically hurricanes. As a result, the department was in need of mobile, diesel-fueled generators that would be used in emergency situations, in the event of the loss of power during or after a hurricane. In particular, the police department wanted several generator sets, each trailer mounted, including a potable, fresh water tank, a storage pod for electrical gear and other equipment that would be deployed once onsite and would be easy for departmental personnel to deploy quickly on scene.

So the police department placed an order for Multiquip’s Ultra-Silent diesel generator, but decided to source the trailer, water tank and other accessories from another supplier. At the last minute however, the other supplier experienced problems in designing and delivering the trailer and had to abandon the project. With the generator nearing delivery and, wanting to complete the project before hurricane season, the department was in a real bind.

Multiquip’s Ultra-Silent generator and custom trailer package provides emergency electrical power for the Department’s Mobile Command Center, which houses up to nine people and provides for command, control and communications for area operations.

Solution:
While the department was searching for a trailer supplier that could meet their specific needs, the project liaison officer, Lieutenant Scott Bell, soon learned about Multiquip’s ability to offer customized trailer packages to fit any of their Multiquip generator sets.    Multiquip listened carefully to the needs of the Homestead Police Department and partnered with them to develop a custom solution that brought all of the missing components together. In turn, Multiquip’s newly designed trailer package not only had an Ultra-Silent mobile generator on board, but also included a 110-gal potable water tank and much needed storage space.

Results:
Multiquip’s technical expertise and flexibility in design allowed them to meet and exceed the unique operational requirements of the Homestead Police Department. Multiquip’s Ultra-Silent generator and custom trailer package provides emergency electrical power for the Department’s Mobile Command Center, which houses up to nine people and provides for command, control and communications for area operations. It also powers night lighting, in addition to emergency auxiliary power and provides fresh water for police and fire personnel, all with enough onboard fuel for up to 48 hours of operation at full load.

“Multiquip provided our department with technical expertise that exceeded our expectations,” said Lt. Bell of the Homestead Police Department. “We are now able to face the challenges of any emergency situation with confidence because we know we have high performing power generators, providing reliable, emergency power when required, to help keep the city running and ultimately help those in need.”
