Maintaining Our Monuments
Arlington National Cemetery represents many things to different people. For some it’s a chronicle of American history, to others it’s a place that signifies and honors the greatest of U.S. war heroes. For New Holland Construction, the cemetery is an American treasure that needs the support of its corporate citizens.
For the annual Renewal & Remembrance Environmental Enhancement Project, organized by the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET), New Holland donated the use of a B95B backhoe loader and two skid steer loaders (an L180 and L175) to lime and landscape areas of Arlington National and Historic Congressional cemeteries in Washington, D.C.
This year the project saw hundreds of lawn care, landscape and tree care companies from across the nation bring crews to Arlington cemetery to enhance the beauty of the national cemetery grounds. The volunteers made the most of the New Holland equipment to remove plants and trees from a 700-sq ft planter bed, dispose of the discarded plants, bring in fresh soil and prepare the area for replanting. New Holland Construction dealer Gaithersburg Equipment Co. of Gaithersburg, M.D., provided support throughout the operation.
