The Off-Road Experts Launch Three Commercial-Focused Pro XD Models

In December 2018, Polaris launched the Pro XD models — a lineup of three diesel utility vehicles engineered specifically for durability, serviceability and safety on the jobsite. These Pro XDs started shipping earlier this year. Polaris promotes the Pro XD as having industry-leading payload of up to 2,075 lbs, towing of 2,500 lbs and world-class mobility. Extensive research with rental, government and construction industry leaders showed that customer productivity and profitability in work environments who use UTVs are driven by vehicle durability, serviceability and safety — which is exactly what the Pro XD provides. The vehicle models are the two-passenger Pro XD 2000D, which is available in either two-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, and the four-passenger Pro XD 4000D available in all-wheel drive.

The Pro XD is engineered with industry-leading, long-lasting and robust components, says Polaris. Durability drives productivity and profitability by decreasing downtime, lowering the cost of replacement parts and reducing maintenance labor. Features include a Kubota industrial diesel engine, an all-new rigid chassis design for payload and towing capacities, rust-free and dent-resistant composite bed, large enough to fit a full-size pallet, and heavy-duty, sealed driveline components to increase resistance from corrosive conditions.

There’s a reinforced seat base and heavy-duty seat material for a puncture- and tear-resistant seat and an industry-first, 26-in., non-directional jobsite tire designed for puncture resistance and longer life on hard-packed surfaces. The Pro XD is also designed to increase vehicle lifespan and optimize uptime. Engine maintenance intervals are 200 hours. Polaris notes it is the only vehicle brand to offer this standard on a diesel UTV, double the competition.

The result is less time and money spent on oil changes and extended use time. The Pro XD’s improved vehicle fault alarms notify users of potential issues that could cause serious damage to the vehicle. Alarms include low oil pressure, parking brake engagement, belt burn and engine overheat. The relocated dipstick and air filter offer easy service maintenance through side access without the need to raise the bed. The front air intake allows for clean air ingestion, improved air filter life, consistent engine power and durability. Plus, Polaris Pulse Connector simplifies the process of adding electronic accessories like lights and radios to the vehicle’s power source, simplifying accessory installation and enhancing upfit possibilities.

For more than 60 years, Polaris has been making high-quality, breakthrough products — whether it’s launching the snowmobile industry or introducing a radical three-wheel moto-roadster. The company has grown into one of the world’s largest powersports companies while also offering a diverse portfolio of hard-working UTVs.

Advice to Buyers

“When buying a UTV for work, ask the questions that are going to impact your experience with a vehicle and your bottom line,” says Brandon Flaata, marketing communications specialist with Polaris Commercial. “How many hours between oil changes? Are there fault alarms to alert me to an issue before I — or my workers or renters — do major damage? Look for a unit that was built for work and drives productivity and profitability by decreasing downtime.”
