Bobcat Utility Vehicles Summarized — 2019 Spec Guide

Three Drive Modes, Rigid Chassis and Big Towing
In 2002, Bobcat Co. introduced its first utility vehicle, the 2100. The following year, the company added a 2100S model with seating for up to four passengers. In 2004, the first Bobcat 4×4 utility vehicle, the 2200, made its debut. A significant introduction occurred in 2006 with the 2300, the first Bobcat utility vehicle that could operate front-mounted attachments with the RapidLink attachment mounting system. Today, the company offers four utility vehicles in its lineup.
All four Bobcat utility vehicles provide ample horsepower and speed, allowing for increased jobsite productivity. The gas-powered 3400 and 3400XL feature a 40-hp engine, while the new diesel-powered UV34 and UV34XL have a 23.5-hp engine. Bobcat 3400 and 3400XL utility vehicles offer a top speed of 40 mph when combined with an optional speed kit. The UV34 and UV34XL have a top travel speed of 35 mph.
The UV34 and UV34XL have an all-new, more rigid chassis that gives operators all of the performance needed in a work-focused vehicle, including additional comfort, added strength and increased performance for the job. The chassis design drastically improves ground clearance and road capability while allowing more range of motion in the suspension for ride quality, which is enhanced further with increased seat padding. With more material added to the frame, suspension components, wheel hubs and extended-life wheel bearings, the utility vehicles offer impressive durability as well. Towing capacity is increased by 500 lbs, allowing owners and operators to haul heavier trailers.
There are three drive mode selection options — turf mode, two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive — which are available to match varying ground conditions. In turf mode, each wheel spins independently, allowing for minimal ground disturbance on turf, pavement and other hard-packed surfaces. Two-wheel drive allows both rear wheels to receive equal torque and spin for added traction on gravel roads, soggy trails and soft pasture. Four-wheel drive allows the machine to easily navigate in shallow streams, travel in snow-covered paths and pull trailers. Advice to Buyers
“Options and accessories for utility vehicles have increased since the vehicles were introduced,” says Chris Austinson, Bobcat utility vehicle product specialist. “Before you purchase a new utility vehicle, consider some popular options such as fully enclosed cabs, heat, power steering, rearview and sideview mirrors, front/rear work lights and a radio and speakers.”
