Wacker Neuson Track Loaders Summarized — 2018 Spec Guide

Wacker Neuson

Extremely Versatile  Machines with Industry-Leading Warranty

While Wacker Neuson may be considered a new player in the compact track loader market, the company continues to grow its line and gain market acceptance since the original introduction of large frame models in 2014. In 2017, the company launched a new medium-frame loader line that was completely designed, engineered and built at the company’s Menomonee Falls, Wis. plant. This newest line has set the standard for the company’s further advancement into the compact track loader market.

As compact track loaders continue to grow in popularity, Wacker Neuson has found ways to make the operating experience more comfortable and convenient as well as provide the durability customers demand. The operator experience starts with how easy it is to get in and out of the Wacker Neuson ST models. From the location of the step and wide frameless door to the placement of the grab handles, all contribute to making it easy to get in and out of the machine. Additionally, there is no restrictive lap bar and all the controls are intuitively placed. Mechanical hand-foot and selectable electronic-hydraulic options (ISO/H-Pattern) ensure operators with a variety of experience levels can efficiently operate these machines.

Durability of the compact track loaders undercarriage is key to the life of the machine. All the high-quality components of Wacker Neuson’s undercarriage are steel and have a combination of a double flange idler in the front, single in the rear and double and triple flange rollers in the middle provide for extremely long track life and longevity of the undercarriage. Additionally, the undercarriage’s open design makes it easy to clean especially after operating it in muddy conditions. All the drive lines leading to the drive motors are completely internal, out of harm’s way, and they directly drive the motors, making the most torque in this class size, as well as being quiet and maintenance free, says the company.

Wacker Neuson also says its compact track loaders are extremely versatile. With the universal skid steer attachment plate, tools can be switched easily, allowing for more tasks to be done in less time. Category-leading hydraulic horsepower is standard (20 gpm) and optional high flow (30 gpm) enables the machines to handle high-performance attachments such as rakes, mowers, tillers and augers with ease. The vertical-lift units offer a class-leading hinge pin height of 10 ft, 4 in., providing a competitive edge when loading truck and material bins, says the company.

A real standout for Wacker Neuson’s compact track loaders is the industry-leading warranty. Part of the value proposition with the longer warranty is higher residual value by providing coverage into the second life of the machine. The unique 3/4/5 warranty provides coverage for three years/3,000 hours bumper to bumper, four years/4,000 hours on the drivetrain and hydraulics and five years/5,000 hours on the electrical system.

Advice to Buyers

“While we know that matching the right machine for the job is key to selecting a machine, looking at the small details add up to big savings and longevity of loaders,” says Jay Quatro, field application and training specialist with Wacker Neuson. “Customers have told us that service access and warranty are just as important in their purchasing decisions. Additional features such as dealer installed kits can provide extra life to the machine as well. We recommend looking for a comprehensive warranty. This is a good indicator that the machine is built to provide years of service.”
