Volvo Skid Steers Summarized — 2019 Spec Guide

Seven One-Armed Models that Meet Both Radial and Vertical Needs
The Volvo skid steer loader lineup includes seven models — the MC70C, MC85C, MC100C, MC105C, MC110D, MC115D and MC135D. Rated operating capacities range from 1,550 to 3,186 lbs and gross engine power from 56 to 74 hp. These machines offer an intelligent design packed with features guided by customer feedback — ultimately making them the most productive and efficient skid steer models ever offered from Volvo.
Due to the single loader tower arm design, cab access is easier and safer. Operators enter and exit the cab through a large, wide-opening side cab door. This eliminates the need for operators to climb onto and over the bucket or attachment. A bolt-on, non-slip step under the door increases safe entry and exit of the cab. The single loader arm is designed to provide strength, reliability, improved visibility and even distribution of the load (without affecting machine balance). The pressurized cab also features a large top window for improved visibility during truck loading. The loader boom and arm are covered by the Volvo Lifetime Frame and Structure Warranty
Volvo D-Series skid steer loaders have been revamped with a stronger boom design that provides up to 11 percent higher lifting capacities over the prior generation.
Together with cabs that offer 30 percent more room and up to 60 percent greater visibility, these differentiators result in measurable advantages over competitors, says Volvo. This design also includes a curved single loader arm that is built with 20 percent more steel than conventional models. The heavy-duty design and extra reinforcement provide more strength and rigidity. The end result is an impressive lineup that is among the most productive, durable and safe in the industry, notes the company. Volvo’s D-Series machines also come equipped with a fully enclosed attachment bracket, along with a replaceable, reversible wear plate. A visual indicator signals when the attachment is locked.
Volvo C-Series skid steer loaders offer an intelligent design with improved service access through a forward-tilting cab and large rear compartment service door, and all service and maintenance points are accessible through simple, safe means. The side entry and exit of the cab makes it possible for the operator to engage the loader arm support without having to pass under a raised boom. Operators also enjoy increased visibility. Without the horizontal cross bar normally found on vertical-lift machines, operators are afforded an unrivaled view of the load and jobsite, providing added safety when operating in compact and congested areas.
Advice to Buyers
“It’s important to determine the weight of the loads that need to be carried and choose the proper machine size based on the rated operating capacity [ROC],” says Lars Arnold, global product manager for Volvo Construction Equipment. “Always select the correct tire type — pneumatic or solid — based on the ground conditions the machine will encounter, and consider what attachments are currently being used or may be used in the future. That helps determine whether three-way or seven-way controls and standard or high flow are required.”
