Advice to Buyers

“Determining the right class excavator based on weight, width and dig depth for your applications is the first step,” says Michael Shebetka, product manager at Takeuchi-US. “There are different track options such as rubber, segmented rubber and steel. Each is suited for varying ground conditions and applications. If you plan to use multiple attachments, a hydraulic or mechanical quick-coupler will save time swapping attachments. There are conventional and zero tail swing models to choose from. A conventional will swing over the tracks but offer better operator comfort, serviceability and stability due to the extra length and a more robust counterweight.”
